He's exciting to watch. No denying that. The great(running) and not so good (passing). But he’s a quarterback. He had 1,000 yds rushing last year, and only played 14.5 games. He's severely limited as a passer, but he's a goddamn cheat code when he runs.

Outside of production meeting bullet points, Collinsworth owns (or whatever) a large, popular entity that enforces his love of technique and fundamentals. Lamar Jackson takes an easy pitch and catch and turns into a potential problem by leapjng into traffic and throwing it in the air...why does CC praise that?

upper echelon sports personalities refuse to criticize athletes because they’re friends with all of them. I don’t think Collinsworth is willing to be honest when he cares about what the players think of himOutside of production meeting bullet points, Collinsworth owns (or whatever) a large, popular entity that enforces his love of technique and fundamentals. Well spotted. But he’s a quarterback. He had 1,000 yds rushing last year, and only played 14.5 games. He's severely limited as a passer, but he's a goddamn cheat code when he runs.
The reason why elite QB1s get bonkers 9-figure contracts is because they're force multipliers. They maximize the potential threat posed by all 5 eligible receivers any given snap, they make reads at the line to make the running game more effective, etc.
Jackson is exciting to watch, but he's not that level of force multiplier. Jackson is the weapon; from a value perspective I think he's more on par with a leet WR.

Sucks to be that guy.
But, KC has not scored in quite some time either.
