The offense should be great this year, the defense should be better(can't be worse I don't think), but still worries me. Hopefully alot of these younger guys are ready to step up and Narduzzi and his staff can really coach up the Defense.

An even better question is will we double up the ups thread? It's not really fair to compare the premier college football thread to a page 2 thread, but here we are.

It's almost like the majority of posters on this site are from Pittsburgh and surrounding counties, and are more likely to devote their allegiance to the long-dead football program in Oakland than they are to a school that's their rival.

Ups fans keep telling me that the majority of all counties in PA outside of only one -- Allegheny --are UPS fans; "biggest alumni base in the world"; and that Heinz Field will be 50-50 at best come next fall. But on a board where two-thirds of the founders are ups heathens, 5af is the exception to ups dominance? Interesting.

I took a trip to Goldman Sachs last week (to check on my Chinese investments) and, wow, everyone there was a Penn State grad.

Hey shad, let's wallow in self pity about how awful PSU has been since the 80s. Oh wait.

Maybe we can get EPP to make an inane argument in the PSU thread too.

lol slappy, I am just sayin, the western quarter of Pennsylvania, where the majority of posters here are from or reside in, has a lot more Pitt fans per capita than the rest of the country. So it would stand to reason that there would be more Pitt fans posting here.

BRB, I'm going to create the "North Broad Street Forum" and brag to UPS fans about how Temple is DOMINATING THE BOARD WITH THEIR EPIC FANDOM BRUH

I'm almost positive I saw an article on LGP posted by one of you ups guys that laid out alumni base in PA by county and that ups by virtue of it graduating 2-3x the students per year outnumbered Pitt alumni in all counties but Allgeheny. I don't know what the count is but I bet it's close in terms of alumni/fans of each school.

It's small sample size then. Yes, there happen to be more people here that enjoy posting about Pitt sports than other websites per capita. Black Shoe Diaries, for example, has had about three times as much activity than Cardiac Hill over the summer. I know you are just trolling, but I can award you a "most active college football thread" trophy if you'd like. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Why don't you go form your own board, if you can't keep up with excellence in this thread.

I went to Akron and was really looking forward to this game. But my buddy just had to go and get married so I will be at his wedding. It was really awkward watching last year's and not really knowing who to root for, so maybe it's for the best.

If anyone is going, feel free to PM for bar/restaurant recommendations

I may go...it depends on a couple of scheduling things that I still have to confirm but if I'm free, I'd love to drive up for that game. I've heard the stadium there is terrific.

I'll let you guys know as it gets a little closer if I can make it.
