Mitchell’s vs The Machines on Netflix is about as good as it gets for silly movies to watch with the kids.

If you enjoyed that, check out Next Gen. A few years older, but very similar plot.

:thumb: I'm just happy that my Peacock sub is finally going to pay off.

We're watching Curse of Michael Myers tonight, which is one of my least favorite. I forgot how good 4 is.

We are going to probably watch 1,2, 2018 this week in preparation for Kills. I know that 2 technically isn't cannon at this point, just 1 and 2018, but I have a soft spot for it. I want to watch H20 again too at some point.

4 is a good movie, 5 is reallly bad. Knowing all the changes and stuff it went through was interesting, but its still a bad movie no matter what version you watch.

Yeah it's super disjointed. I don't know about the changes but it feels like the Curse of Thorn **** was added last minute to try to tie into the next film. That's my least favorite stuff in the whole franchise. Give me the Busta internet shot over the curse of the thorn.

No Time to Die
Only the 2nd theater movie I've seen since the beginning of the pandemic. Definitely a big screen movie, and I got my money's worth. It's good, but not without it's flaws.

There are plenty of excellent set pieces. The core cast is great. Lashanna Lynch sadly was underwhelming. Waltz hasn't settled into Blofeld yet. Rami Malek was expectedly underwhelming. Ana de Armas was a huge bright spot. She had excellent chemistry with Craig. If covid hadn't happened and this movie came out a few months after Knives Out as initially planned, no doubt she would be one of the biggest stars in the world. Lea Seydoux does great work, but her chemistry with Craig never gets close to the heights of him and Eva Green (or even de Armas), which is a problem since it's written as Bond's de facto romance.

My hope for the next Bond is that they drop the serialization and go back to standalone films. You definitely start to feel the weight of the history 2/3rds into this entry. It's just too much to handle from a screenwriting perspective.

I think the ending could've been handled differently. The route they went was executed as well as could've been, but I thought a different route could've yielded more profound results.

Curse of Michael Myers is every bit as bad as I remembered. And it got me thinking of the timeline. So we have 1-6, the H20 timeline (1,2,H20,Resurrection), and the new timeline of 1, 2018, Kills, Ends. Did I miss any?

You have them all.. besides the Rob Zombie films being their own reboot as well basically I guess. I try to forget those exist though. Also technically I guess it's 1,2,4-6 as 3 is it's own thing.

Put in a spoiler because the picture is huge.

We ended up going through the entire Scream series after watching the first. The 2nd is not bad, the 3rd is awful, and I thought the 4th one that came a decade later was pretty good too. Nothing touches the original though.

We also watched The Strangers last night with Liv Tyler? I feel like I've seen it before, but I thought it was good, and those movies tend to mess with me alot more than slashers do because of the realness. My wife was checking all the rooms in the house before we went to bed last night haha.

I watched The Strangers once and that was enough for me. Gimme a lifetime of slasher movies before a **** home invasion thriller.

It's just about a perfect film. A couple of the jokes don't quite land, but it's 99% flawless.

Agree on the Scream series. It's amazing what a hot mess 3 turned out to be. I'm looking forward to part 5 which should be out early next year.

You should check out Strangers 2. It's more of of a slasher but has some great 80s vibes. It's more "fun" and far less intense than the original.
