Once you have really properly good fries (like from a gastropub) fast food fries are all kind of trash. The only ones I actually like in any measure are well done fries from In-N-Out.

Not gonna lie, I still prefer the wedges. The seasoned ones they have now aren’t as good.I like KFC's new fries. They are battered.

I haven’t had them in forever, but Checker’s always had amazing fries.

Spicy chicken or just spicy mayo?Wendy’s spicy chicken sandwich is criminally underrated, IMO.

Rax was not as good as Arbys.Funny that nobody has mentioned Arby's curly fries in the fries discussion. That's probably because they're trash.
Was Rax as good as I remember?
There is 1 Rax left in Ohio or Michigan.

I used to go to the Rax in East Freedom off of I99. Didn't they all have that classic look with the windowed in seating area opposite the counter? Similar to some old school Wendy's?

The Wendy's that was by Park City Mall had one of those but they razed it and replaced it with Popeye's a few years ago.I used to go to the Rax in East Freedom off of I99. Yes, multiple times in Columbus. It's probably the best fast food chicken tender out there imo. The sauce is elite.

Big fan of Cane’s. Zaxby’s chicken is good but their fries really test my “all fries are good” theory and toast instead of biscuits is bullshit, though Cane’s makes the same error in judgement.

Canes toast is great. I swap in extra toast instead of coleslaw.

In my experience, Wendy's was long closed by the time I wanted fast food.Wendy’s was always my go to in that scenario. But man, 1am Saturday morning after an 8 hour alcohol bender it may as well be filet mignon.By comparison, I had a chicken sandwich from McD's over the weekend and I was thoroughly unimpressed. It wasn't bad per se, but it was just kinda there.
That to me sums up pretty much all of McD's food. It's my least-favorite fast-food burger place, and to me all of the food tastes the most "prefabricated" out of all of those places. It's like school cafeteria food.

Sweet... looking forward to it.
There’s also a Giant being built between my work place and home which will be really nice to have. The plan is to also have two fast food restaurants and a coffee shop.
I’m assuming the coffee will be Starbucks, but I’m curious about what the fast food spots will be. I doubt they’ll be a McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, or BK as there’s already one of each of those somewhat close by.
Maybe the McDonald’s is far enough away that it would go in, but I’m hopeful it’s something good.

The $ item at Rax was the chocolate chip shake.
Cane's gets a thumbs up from Little franchise who at age 13 continues to be a chicken tender connoisseuse. There's one in Boardman if you find yourself up in the Youngstown area, which actually has a ton of crap we don't have in Pittsburgh (this side anyway). Popeye's (there's not one north or west of town), Dillards, huge brand new Meijer superstore, nice big Italian grocery store....
Edit: Holy cow there are still 8 Raxes! Why do I think I would probably find them disappointing?
