Missing Watt, Haden and Fitzpatrick. What result was truly expected?
Steelers at Chargers - GDT Week 11
I listen to a podcast where they do football picks. The best prognostication of that game I heard was "The Steelers will lose on account of them not being able to score more than 20." And that's what I expected as well. So the fact that they turned it into a boat race in the 4th quarter was both surprising and entertaining, but the end result didn't change.
The only reason I got invested in it is because I really, really hate players in any sport that take intent-to-injure cheap shots and the Chargers did it twice in a short span last night. I wanted them to lose because of that. And their coach served it up on a silver platter with that turnover on downs. Frustrating.

The funny thing is the only reason they scored more than 20 is because of one big play on special teams and two big plays on defense. While the offense put up 37, they still don't inspire confidence. The play calling is insanely bad

I was fine with the offense beside the goal line situations

That's with a limited line, no Juju, and an obviously limited QB. I know Canada isn't lighting the world on fire but he doesn't really have an arsenal of options on hand

He has Najee Harris and almost refuses to use him in the goal line offense. If you're first and goal and you don't hand the ball to your best player at least once (or god forbid twice), you're bad at your job.

If only they had a fullback that could lead block for the amazing rookie RB at the goal line. Too bad

It is true that they're limited by an inexperienced (and injured) line and the absence of a really good blocking wr

Inexperienced and injured line? WR reverse from the 3, then!

To be honest, I don't think running Najee from the 5 would have gotten us anywhere either. Our line was really bad. Najee can get 1 yard by himself like we saw when they got the penalty to the 1. But running up the middle from the 5 wouldn't have worked imo. Obviously, whatever the hell they tried didn't work eitherHe has Najee Harris and almost refuses to use him in the goal line offense. Yeah LAC was loading up to stop the run all night. Harris has what like 30some yards?

Hassenauer got injured, too. Is BJ Finney dead? Or just terrible? I remember he was highly regarded after his second or third season here, got a free agent contract, came back, and can't get in the lineup. With THIS O-line group. Yikes.

The offensive line is so terrible that Green being marginally better at snapping the ball than James Harrison gets zero attention paid to it. Regardless, this is what is deserved after passing up Jimmy Morrissey.

Let me go ahead and get all the way off your back about that. Its super easy, barely an inconvenience.,Have you been watching Pitch Meeting videos? I think this is at least the second reference to them by you itt yonight.![]()

1st and goal, three straight plays to Not Najee - fail. Gifted new set of downs because of a penalty, immediately give ball to Najee - Tuddy. He has Najee Harris and almost refuses to use him in the goal line offense. If you're first and goal and you don't hand the ball to your best player at least once (or god forbid twice), you're bad at your job.
Why is this so hard to figure out.
Steelers at Chargers - GDT Week 11
because the first 3 plays weren't at the 1?

Exactly. Should’ve been at least two runs.
