I threw McAvoy blocked shots into this to bump this up to +2200. But Marshy didn't shoot (though I think he did have one shot...the NHL isn't consistent with shots)...that's how it goes, as soon as you share a bet, you go cold...

Sorry I didn't see this until later but you'd have lost if you took my advice. I had Fierceness on top with a combo of Just a Touch/Forever Young/Catching Freedom and a couple of mudders as my show bets, including Mystik Dan. I thought the post position for Sierra Leone would be too much for him to make his patented closing run. Turns out that was wrong. Fierceness was perfectly positioned at the clubhouse turn and just didn't fire. Mystik Dan won that race the same way he won the Southwest Stakes back in January with that massive rail ride. It was a hell of a race with a dozen horses looking like they'd win when they hit the top of the stretch.

So, with that Stars win tonight, I correctly selected each of the 16 first round winners in the NHL & NBA playoffs. Last night, when I was 13 for 13, I went and researched the odds for that 16-series parlay. It was roughly 989-1. Naturally, there was no money placed on that but my contest brackets on ESPN and NHL.com look pretty good.

huh, thinking about it...all favorites won right? well, looking up the odds, the Pacers were the only dogs to win. that feels predictable in the NBA but surprising for the NHL where things are more random
