The salt pre-snow is such a game changer and I can't believe it took me this long to learn about it

Shoveled fun paths all over the yard last night. I find in winter I really miss keeping up with summer yardwork, so winter yardwork it is. Shoveled all my neighbors walks and driveways and did a little sledding. Love this weather.

My neighbor's kid shoveled part of my walkway (he genuinely loves shoveling). With the bit of rain we got, and no salt being down, it was an ice rink along the sidewalk. Gonna have to ask to just let me do it so that I can salt right afterwards. Really don't want somebody falling on my property and then suing me.

I went through a lot of calcium chloride yesterday and this morning, so I figured I'll just go to Lowe's and grab another bag or two. Tell my neighbor I'll pick up a bag for him while I'm there. Yesterday they had over 500 in stock. Today? 3. And they were all sitting in the garden center which was closed off. I was talking to one of the younger workers, and he let me in to grab them even though it was closed because of the snow/ice. Good deal, my man.

I'm not going to ask him to salt my sidewalk and stuff, be serious. I appreciate the gesture, but prefer handling it myself.

Seems to be a consensus 3-4 inch day of snow all happening during the morning commute. I’m excited for the opportunity to shovel my stupid narrow steep ass driveway at 5:30 am so my gf can get to work.

It's all anybody is talking about at my office. Some people are leaving early because of it for some reason. The fear is real. Seems like whenever a storm is this hyped up it ends up being nothing.

This is a tricky storm to forecast, especially in eastern PA. Should be a pretty large area of general 2-4" though. Laurel Highlands will definitely get a solid hit.

I already took off work so I can shovel and spend some much needed times outdoors in the snow tomorrow. Bring it like Kane said

Picked the right day to trade for WFH tomorrow. Probably going to shovel on my lunch break unless it's still coming down

My wife is going to cirque du solei saturday, but has to go into work tomorrow. She only goes in on Tuesdays and Fridays normally...and she swears those are the only days that snow.

I imagine we'll get a school closing notice soon. PennDot placed some road restrictions that don't allow school buses:

All of I-99 and I-80 won't have buses on them tomorrow, both run right through the school district.

First day of remote learning ever for me and lil mac. Should be a dandy. They never even gave us Chromebooks. I guess it's a good thing I have a laptop and wifi?
