is Scotland usually 10 years behind American culture?
No, they just usually don't care about such trivial crap.
It's probably just me who's 10 years behind.
Don't worry. The Pens are about to get A LOT better.

There was a hit and run in the neighborhood across the street from the church I used to attend in Maryland about 2 hours ago. Police think it was not an accident. I also cannot get a hold of a buddy of mine that lives there. He's a stand up dude but was in with "the wrong crowd" for a long time before changing his life about 4 years ago. Kinda worried right now. He will usually respond to a text or FB message within minutes. He isn't answering the phone either. I'm not freaking out yet but if I don't hear anything from him or someone from the church by this evening I will start being real concerned...

I feel bad interviewing for jobs while employed. Feels kind of dirty and I don't enjoy it.
Gotta take care of you and yours.
That's what I keep telling myself. The background check company is hounding me about a reference from my current company. I provided them with one that is no longer with the company, but our time overlapped by two years or so. They asked me again for someone currently with my company. I guess I'll have to call and tell them my search is confidential and to STFU about it.
Yes, tell them that you can't jeopardize your current position without a firm offer from this [new] company...it is very normal not to have a current employer contacted...

A woman on my FB just posted that she and her neighbors saw a Mountain Lion, in Somerset. She said he son went out with his pistol and saw a huge brown cat that was at least 75 pounds with a thick tail and that if he would have had his rifle, he could have got it. This occurred on the south side of town.

So many lulz.

Strike two for the new downstairs neighbors. They moved in and the electricity was still on from the previous tenant and thought, "Hey, free electricity!". It was turned off yesterday so now they have a generator roaring away.

Well, you know, they're like 7 hours behind the Eastern time zone so it might as well be 10 years...

Yes that is sarcasm. See the Grinding Gears thread.

Got an iPhone 6s+ this morning. It's so big, but I'm liking it a lot.

My parents are moving out of the house i grew up in. I loved the house, hated the location. Some of my worst and best memories happened in that house.
It's kind of weird. I feel like i have nothing to go back to in NY.
My brother is still in NY but it isn't the same.

Anyone watching the rugby? England leading at the break and I guess they deserve the lead although my knowledge of rugby isn't great.

It's good so far. 2nd half is just kicking off. I'm hoping Wales win.

dammit, missed the end but it looks like Wales pulled out the victory. I guess England tried to pull a Japan and went for the game-winning try at the end instead of kicking it and getting out with a draw

anytime England loses in any sport, it's a good feeling
