Crazy to think about it though, I'm only an hour north of Pittsburgh. We have probably ten inches at the moment and you guys have nada
No, that's exactly what more reserved forecasters called for. The one I recall distictly (Mike Harvey WTAE) said the line of demarcation would be about 30 miles north of the city.

My beef is specifically with KDKA that went full ratings blitz projecting certain death for all in Allegheny county. It really pisses me off that there is no accountability for how they act.

My comment had nothing to do with any forecasting

State College ended up with about 8 inches or so. Hard to tell since it started raining a bit and compacted things.

Just wait until the temperature plummets to zero or below tonight. That snow pack is going to be sharp enough to cut legs.

Wind chill advisories up down here for tonight and tomorrow morning. Wind chills plummeting to as low as 15-20 below zero tonight. My wife's aunt/uncle live in the northern Catskills (Middleburgh, NY). It is supposed to go down to -9 (wind chills around 30 below) tonight on top of a 15" snow pack :o

We got at least a foot up here. It stayed pretty cold, so it's a relatively light weight snow but with the wind that also means 2'-3'+ drifts.

Just left to go to my grandmas for Sunday breakfast, Mrs Mac has the flu so me and the little guy bugged out. Naturally the less than 1 inch of snow hasn't been touched on our roads and I'm sure it's icy beneath so I just turned around. Glad Penn dot had every plow truck sitting alongside the interstate yesterday.

Grass poking through here in Latrobe. Our country road looks untouched. Hoping I can get over to my Dad's to watch football today.

Hard to tell but got about 7" in Altoona. The first 3" came down in the first half hour yesterday around 4pm. Then it just dusted all evening. This morning though it was all frozen which packed the snow down but made it somewhat easier to chunk off the car. Roads aren't too bad but aren't clear except the tire tracks

We got maybe 4" in BeavCo. Hard to tell, we are on top of the hill so it drifts a lot.

This is a first. They have to bring a de-icing truck to us just so we can start the engines to get to the actual de-icing station

I feel for you and hate being at the airport. I have to travel next month and am not looking forward to it given the chance of storms somewhere **** up travel schedules.

Are the TSA agents pissy w/o their pay? I would be.

Actually the guy taking my ID was a dick, I didn't think of it but yeah. I don't blame him for being pissy I suppose. I don't normally mind traveling but my 5 hour day has turned into a 15 hour day so it's not ideal. Especially on a Sunday going to God damn Iowa

Damn. This is the first time of the winter the phrase "bone chilling" cold is valid. That wind is awful.

How many Florida Panthers fans would you say were hit by Hurricanes between 2007-2014? Is this more or less than the number of Tampa Bay Lightning fans?

As always, be prepared, and have your winter boots ready, have your winter jackets ready, hats, gloves, scarfs and ski pants ready. Order your pizzas and chinese food. Buy cases of Pepsi, buy cases of Coke. Have your Samsung Galaxys charged, have your Samsung Galaxy Smartphones charged, Samsung Galaxy Tablets charged, Smartphones, Cell Phones, Laptops and Tablets charged and Have your 3G and 4G Internet ready. When you are driving your car take your time and slow down so you don't get in a car accident. When you are walking be careful while you are walking so you don't slip and fall. Have your furnaces ready and turn on the furnaces to keep the house warm. Drink Lots of Green Tea, White Tea, Red Tea to keep you warm.

As soon as I got to the sentence with the Samsung Galaxies I burst out laughing. This has to be our special weather-loving friend from Nova Scotia, right?
and as always... BE PREPARED!!
