It's subtle, but the dig was at reddit, not 'Om. Fire hydrant dumbass has been hoisted to the top of every subreddit in the last 24 hours, so if you try to just browse reddit it's him over and over. It's a certain laziness of their app that I don't like. That and the inability to hide certain subreddits are the worst two absent features.

Sounds like you need Reddit Enhancement Suite. I block a number of subs in /r/all using it, and it has made the overall Reddit experience much better.

One of those two subs is consistently in the top 20 items when I first look at reddit each night. I thought maybe it had a learning algorithm and my hiding it would eventually tell it that I wasn't interested, but no. The more I use reddit the dumber the underlying structure appears.
