Sense comes to Netflix today. Seems like a pretty ambitious show, looking forward to checking it out

Parts Unknown in Iran was fantastic. Amazing how friendly everyone was to the CNN cameras and Uncle Tony. Great looking food, too.

It was brilliant television. They set it up saying how wonderful the place was (yeah, you occassionally get harassed by the cops, big whoop), and showcased the famous Persian gift for hospitality.......... then they inform you that the two journalists they spoke with were arrested for no apparent reason. The guy's trial just started last month.

Did anyone see the first video Colbert did for the Late Late Show? I thought it was completely unfunny (and borderline awkward) for a large portion of it, with only a couple minor chuckles scattered throughout the six minutes. He has no chance against Fallon, which they probably know already.
Fallon is a very low bar.

so after many years away I have re-activated my Netflix account. the last time I had Netflix they had basically just started the streaming option. there were no "Netflix shows" and their selection of movies was pretty pathetic. I've got a lot of catching up to do this Summer!

Watched the first episode of sense8 on netflix. I have a bad feeling that I'm not going to know anymore about the show when the season is over than I did after the first episode.

Started watching the BBC series Doc Martin. Very enjoyable.

Does good stuff happen for a while and then a really bad thing happens right before the credits?

I'm not really sure with this one. It kind of bounces back and forth between things looking good for the protagonists and then looking bad. It does have a series of jokes based on Schrodinger's Cat.

If Under The Dome is a 1 and Sopranos/Breaking Bad is a 10, it's about a 7. Higher if you like computers and/or history.

Do you watch TURN? Compared to TURN the character development is faster and the plot moves quicker. It feels like they only had one season in mind from the start and it shows. They're both quality shows.

I think you have to like computers though or it doesn't work. It's not about computers, but there are so many great references if you're into that.

All that said, I have no idea what S2 is going to do and I expect it to suck worse than Godfather 3.

I watched a little of it last night and it interested me because 1) just the 80s setting, and 2) just the early type of home computer days.

I do watch TURN. I've enjoyed most of the AMC shows. So I'll probably give it a shot.

Is it one of those things where I have to watch all of season 1 to know what is going on, or can I just pick up right now Season 2. I did that with Sleepy Hollow and was confused as hell at first but then caught on.

Season 1 was completely contained with no real loose ends. I haven't watched S2E1 yet so I can't say for sure, but other than knowing that all the characters have tension between one another there probably isn't anything else to know.

I like where Halt and Catch Fire is heading. I think. But I remember/used a lot of the computers they showed in S2E1. And I'd just finished Ready Player One, which is steeped in 1980s geek nostalgia.

As for TURN, I found myself playing on my phone while watching this season. Not sure why. I'm behind a few episodes, not sure if I'm going to get caught up until the season is finished.

This season of TURN has been a little disappointing to me. A lot of jumping around and not a lot of development IMO.

It hasn't been horrible, but it got good at the end of season 1 and I thought that would carry through.

'The Man With No Penis' Moves From Discovery Life to TLC:
The Man With No Penis centers on Andrew Wardle, a 40-year-old British man who was born without a penis. Wardle's struggle has been documented heavily across the pond in major publications such as The Daily Mail and The Sun.

When he worked on the algorithm at hooli, it was the old one. He didn't come up with middle out until the competition, right? Does that matter?

Good point... I hadn't even thought about that. Maybe it comes into play at some point in the finale.

Big fan of the Punisher. We'll see if Bernthal can bring it though.

I liked him on the Pacific. Walking Dead, meh.
