Firing Hurdle would have been in conjunction with a sell off. But they stayed the course, and it's paying off. They're in the hunt for the division. So they're not firing Hurdle?

It will be interesting to see how this series goes this weekend against the Rockies. Hopefully their pitching holds up against the Rockies lineup.

It's gonna happen. The question is when. This sweep got me excited about the team again, and that usually means they're gonna tank.I'll be honest I'm a little paranoid about a bad letdownIt will be interesting to see how this series goes this weekend against the Rockies. lolol if the Pirates lost the next game and don't go above .500 the rest of the season, TL will go down in infamy.
Great sweep this week, I'm also hoping that they avoid a letdown this weekend.

given the pirates history, the probable starters, the location they are going, the team they are playing, and just pirates in general i think this is a fair assessmentI'll be honest I'm a little paranoid about a bad letdownIt will be interesting to see how this series goes this weekend against the Rockies. speaking of jinx, Daniel Hudson has actually played some pretty good baseball since the month of April. At one point, the list of pitchers that fans could have confidence was short (Nicasio, Rivero), but Schugel has pitched well since he was recalled. Watson has given up 4 runs in his past 17 innings. Hudson has been fine. They should add another arm at the deadline (they always do), and that will make it even better.

Watson was always miscast as the "closer". I don't think it's a coincidence that the bullpen has been really good since they moved Rivero in to that role. Hudson has had 2.15 ERA since the beginning of May.speaking of jinx, Daniel Hudson has actually played some pretty good baseball since the month of April. I think NH should be asking what the Rangers want for Darvish, getting an upgrade over Williams or Kuhl is probably necessary for a legit run for the division.

I would be completely surprised if the Pirates even sniff around Darvish. He's a rental, so if the Pirates don't win the WS, you're basically giving up a decent prospect or two for nothing.Source of the post I think NH should be asking what the Rangers want for Darvish, getting an upgrade over Williams or Kuhl is probably necessary for a legit run for the division.
Playing devil's advocate, what would a realistic trade be between the Rangers and Pirates? Will Glasnow straight up get the job done?

It wouldn't, and I wouldn't do that. A straight up trade would probably be Keller.I would be completely surprised if the Pirates even sniff around Darvish. OBviously a long way off, but I had completely forgotten that players suspended for PEDs were ineligible for the playoffs. F U Marte.
On a brighter note, Cutch's resurgence has been the feel-good story of this year. After the way 2016 went and the start of this season, it's almost impossible to believe he is hitting .288 with 17 HR.
