Also what WR2 averages 8 yds/reception? The answer is none do.

That's not to diminish his value in that role, but saying he's the equivalent of a WR2 is a stretch, particularly with Bryant coming back.
Bell's line of logic is almost like the stillers arguing "well, you only play about three quarters of a season and have meaningfully contributed in 2 of a potential six playoffs games during your career, so we are going to offer you a contract that considers you a part time player"
I was more or less getting at that he has a case that he's used more than "just" an RB. If they had a TE that wasn't mush for brains and could stretch the field, maybe it wouldn't have mattered, but LEV was apart of that receiving core last year, which makes him a highly versatile player.

I'm not saying he should be paid like a number two WR, he just has a case that he's needed more for his overall talents than just being a RB in the league.

That all being said, he's going to be the next guy in a line of guys who tried to get more money than the Steelers were comfortable with and let him walk. I don't really have a problem with that, but if that was the case - I don't think Conner is a starting back in this league so hopefully, they have another guy they're targeting to bring in.

Whoops. Either way, he's not rushing for 2000 (I know it was a joke). I doubt he runs for even 600 yards this year.

I haven't seen any financial figures listed for this deal. According to one site, the Steelers have ~$15m in cap space before this signing.

On Thursday afternoon, Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert released the following statement on Martavis Bryant.
“Upon his conditional reinstatement in April, Martavis Bryant was made aware it was only the beginning of a process toward a return to being a full contributing member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. We have been informed by the NFL that Martavis is still in the process of being fully reinstated.

“Until that time, Martavis will be permitted to take part in off-the-field team activities at training camp, but he will not be permitted to practice or play in any games.”

So wait a minute? He practiced at OTAs, how is this any different, he should just be suspended for games if anything.

I'm one that doesn't support breaking the rules, and he's earned this with smoking pot. But this is just smoking pot, he's done his time and by all accounts passed everything he's been asked. The NFL really needs to get their heads out of their asses.

They let domestic abuse guys off with way less.

Donte Stallworth killed a guy when drunk and high and was reinstated.

Speculation per Madden and Prisuita is that Bryant either has not yet attended rehab or chosen where he will eventually attend rehab.
