Rafael Araujo-Lopes, immediately eligible JUCO WR. From Winter Park, FL, went to JUCO at Reedley College in California. 5'10, 194 lbs, runs a 4.42 40 and had 74 receptions for 1,229 yards,17 touchdowns in 10 games last season and has four years of eligibility left. Fully expect him to step in as the slot receiver, with Boyd and Ford/Zeise on the outside. Really good late pickup by the staff.

Saw that pickup last night. Any WR that has a chance to see some time opposite of Boyd or in the slot is a welcome addition. Maybe this will allow them to keep Whitehead on defense.

Can Voytik learn to read off of more than one receiver at a time?

That's a legit question but I think having more than one receiver will help with that. Garner sucked and Chryst hated TEs.Can Voytik learn to read off of more than one receiver at a time?

Yeah the fact that Orndoff and Holtz got little to no looks last year was baffling. Some of that was Voytik no doubt, but that is also on the staff for not getting those guys out in patterns more often.
I think Voytik progressed throughout the year, this is a big year for him to see if he can take that next step.

I have all the faith in the world in CV. He improved as the season went on, and Jim Chaney is no dummy when it comes to running an offense. He coached Drew Brees at Purdue, so he certainly knows what he is doing with 6 foot tall QBs.Can Voytik learn to read off of more than one receiver at a time?

I didn't see PSU on the list, must be on the pay-wall portion

If PSU was on the list (it's an honorable mention due to no great QB), I'd have put it in the PSU thread.

It is pretty insane how many All-Pro players have come through Pitt once you sit down and look at it like this.
The two-deep on most of those positions would be pretty impressive as well.
(Not to say something nice about Penn State, but Kerry Collins had decent-to-good NFL career).

as this gentleman has stated many times, voytik was only throwing the ball 15 times a game and justifiably so; the running game was good enough he didn't need to throw. when you throw 15 times a game, and one of your receivers is freaking way better than everyone else, that leaves 5 to 7 passes to distribute among the other WRs, RB, TE, etc.Yeah the fact that Orndoff and Holtz got little to no looks last year was baffling. Some of that was Voytik no doubt, but that is also on the staff for not getting those guys out in patterns more often.

Chryst used the tight end a lot more often when tino was the QB. It would be a waste of Savage's arm to throw it to tight ends considering you had two NFL WRs in Boyd and street, so he rarely threw to them.

People that have seen them do like them a lot. Most likely there will be a third, alternate jersey that is a throwback.

Rich Walsh from KDKA had a picture on twitter. Said he saw the actual renderings, and then worked with his art department at KDKA to try to replicate a generic view.Do any of you Panther Lair elitists have info on the unis?
He stressed this was very generic, but this is supposed to be the color scheme and they can mix and match.
Also said there will be a 70s era Pitt throw back.

Not sure what you mean. I said that was very generic. They were just showing the color scheme. There is no further detail.

New Pitt football coach Pat Narduzzi talked about the upcoming season and expectations at an event Wednesday in Philadelphia. Because of NCAA recruitment rules involving conversations between football coaches and high school players, everyone in attendance was made aware that Narduzzi “is not permitted to have extended contact” with kids in certain grades. That doesn’t make him sound like a pervert or anything.

Bad news: What a poorly worded sign.
Good news: For the first time in four years Pitt's head coach is actually visible in public and people might potentially want to talk to him.

Third placed finish in the Coastal and a #41 ranking overall. That likely equates to 8 wins or so, which would be great.

No surprise that Boyd, Conner, Bisnowaty selected for First Team All-ACC.
