The city limits you mean? 'Cause everywhere I drove this morning was free and clear.
Penn ave Baum etc all slush messes turning to ice cause it's 8 degrees out.
That sucks. Can't say I'm surprised, though.

Because the city salts but doesn't plow when it's a couple of inches. So you get the mess and refreezing.

This. It's not like there's 20 inches of snow. A broom could clear the sidewalks.

Same. Didn't stop the parkway crowd from making a three mile parking lot, though.

It's a tunnel, you assclowns, not a loopty-loop.

Just bitter cold this AM for me. Last night was nice and my commute didn't change, but saw the parkway was backed up for miles.

Anything above 3 inches should be plowed. (twss?)

Less than that is salt and brine territory.

Spent 11 hours last night supervising salt truck sub-contractors as a side gig.

Also if it's been 24 hours and your road still isn't cleared, you can put a request in at http://www.pittsburghpa.gov/311/form

I think I mentioned this last time but I was shocked with the response when I used 311 last snowfall. I put in a request in the evening, a few hours later got a response that they're looking into it, and that morning the road was cleared.

That coastal storm was an overperformer here. Crazy to see Norfolk, Virginia under a blizzard warning

As of this morning, snow on the ground in every state in the US except Florida. Subfreezing temperatures in every state. Average nationwide temperature at 6am? 11 degrees.

This post right here makes this gentleman wish there was a like feature on this board. Really interesting stuff. You could drive across the country and probably not see a temperature higher than like 20. Its nuts

The problem is rooted in the fact that Colorado River water rights were divvied up over 100 years ago between seven states at a time of historic water reserves, and that subscription rate has never been adjusted over time. Those seven states have a water demand that's something like 1 trillion gallons a year more than the river actually flows. The reason the problem is a bit more acute in California is we grow all the food here, and by law agriculture gets first dibs on water, and they account for well over 70% of our usage.
Oroville Reservoir has an inflow of about 137k cfs at the moment, rising by about a foot per hour. For perspective, the confluence that creates the Ohio River has a flow rate of about 100k cfs.

Sounds like your problems are solved, bruh. Get over it.

Considering that lake is half empty, it will only take - spitballing here - 4-5 years of constant rain like this to get it back to normal.

The commute today was atrocious, and the roads were only just wet.
