so many chain sit-down restaurants have dumbed down their food over the years that I just don't bother. when I was in high school, my mom and I would go to the local Applebee's on Mondays when my dad had Lodge. they ran a steak special (sirloin) which was pretty good back then. nowadays, about the only chain I'll go to is Longhorn because the ones near us are actually pretty solid with well-cooked, quality food.

I'm not sure we have an art thread, but saw this at auction...
It's like if Edouard Manet drew an episode of Rocko's Modern Life. It's excellent haha

Going to Wawa at 6 in the morning in Lancaster County is something else. A billion work trucks and Amish people everywhere.

The whole SiriusXM billing model is nuts. So one vehicle plus streaming costs $370 a year but if you call and even casually mention the word "cancel" it drops to $107. No argument, no bickering, nothing.
I suppose it's because so many people just pay full price that it's no skin off their nose to give whoever calls a 70% discount.
I know some people are like- why would you pay for that but Underground Garage, Real Jazz, Casey Kasem's 70s countdowns without the commercials, all the sports play by play and talk- it's the only place I know to get consistent hockey, college sports and soccer talk... and Stern's interviews although I don't listen to his regular show. I don't know about $370 but the $107's a decent bargain IMO.

Unless you’re a Stern fan, I don’t know why anybody would pay for radio instead of one of the many streaming services where you can actually listen to whatever you want to on demand.

I still have Sirius XM....its so dirt cheap that its fine to have when I don't want to listen to Spotify or Podcasts. Ronnies post reminded me to chat them up and threaten to cancel so I could get even cheaper rates. I pay like 11$ a month and that covers both of our cars and streaming on line and has all their channels including stern.

Maybe it's my old ears, but the sound quality from a SiriusXM car unit is poor. Like at best CD quality, which sounds tinny and processed compared to Apple Music.
Someone on LGP gave out their login/password info years ago, and I still use the app from time to time. App quality is a little better, but still glitchy.

I just got it for $5/mo because my trial ran out. I mostly listen to my phone when I'm in the car but for $5/mo it's worth it. They just need to get rid of the DJs on the music channels. I don't care where you were when you heard that Duran Duran album for the first time back in 1987, or that the session drummer for that third rate album passed away six years ago.

You want to talk sound quality, listen to one of the Phish shows from Atlantic City in 22 that SXM broadcasted live at the time.
Sounds like a **** cellphone recording.

It's a function of data rates. How do you pull the streaming content out of the sky? If you have an unlimited plan*, probably no big deal. If you're capped in some way, maybe not so great.Unless you’re a Stern fan, I don’t know why anybody would pay for radio instead of one of the many streaming services where you can actually listen to whatever you want to on demand.
Mrs Tif's company reimburses her/our phone bill up to a certain amount. She steadfastly refuses - for reasons she has never actually articulated - to step up to an unlimited data plan.

People still care about data? That's like still caring about your minutes.

I had no clue you could even not have an unlimited data plan as far as cell phones goes these days. This is me assuming everyone streams via apple care play or android auto in their car for spotify or whatever app you use.

who is buying Crumbl Cookies? I tend to pay very little attention to the price of things, but $20 for 6 cookies is hilarious

I'm on Mint and get 5GB/month. I also paid $150 for the entire year for the service.

I mean those are pretty big cookies. And they are pretty good. The price doesn’t seem so preposterous for one, but if you dabble into the half dozen or dozen categories, it’s bad.who is buying Crumbl Cookies?
