Just bought tickets to see Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood this October. Our local theater uses Axs for ticketing, and they're just as bad as Ticketmaster. 25% of my ticket costs were from "service fees".

Tombrady roast.
Some great jokes (K Hart as Randy Moss "I am going the f**k home" for some reason absolutely got me), and no one really s**t the bed. But I have to admit I didn't really care for this roast as media event shtick. Even in their Comedy Central hey days, the roast venues were like 3k maybe. Decent sized theaters. That's kind of the point, it's like a club and you (we) were getting a sneak peek. By making it more of a big deal, it actually felt less special to me.
And f**k Tombrady for telling them to lay off Kraft handie jokes in the middle of a f**king set.

I have only seen this one clip, and yeah, made him look like a little dodint. I wish Chappelle had given that joke, because he'd have doubled down on it real quick.tifosi77 wrote:Source of the post And f**k Tombrady for telling them to lay off Kraft handie jokes in the middle of a f**king set.

I also just saw a headline that Netflix cut Kim K being bood... lololol, pathetic.

I watched it yesterday. Not the best roast. Brady doesn't appear to have much of a sense of humor about himself (yet?). Coming up to stop the Kraft jokes about a widely known thing was really weird. Nikki Glaser had a really great set. She's always *gestures* around it at events like this, but she finally put together the best set.
Kevin Hart was Kevin Hart, yelling at folks randomly and then doing this thing where he'd repeat the best joke from the previous performer, which almost feels calculated to get social media hits for himself...but maybe that's too much, maybe he was just doing it to know what it' like to be funny for a moment...he kept it rolling and he didn't really put any comic down, which is good (unlike Jamie Foxx).
Other notes:

Largely agreed. I wonder what an edited 2 hour "Comedy Central Roast" version of it would look like. Probably better. Being live definitely felt like it dragged. A lot of Kevin Hart would probably be cut. He wasn't a bad host, but definitely got repetitive. Brady spent the entire night looking like a humorless NTP66, but his set to finish it off was solid and his delivery was good.

Oh, I forgot about Segura and Bert. Bert is such a clown...I don't really get his appeal. He can't keep a straight face through anything, which is a bad pairing for one of the driest guys out there in Segura. Nikki got him good with the "I love your joke" line. He's not a comic's comic at all. He's closer to Larry the Cable Guy.
Segura could have done better on his own I think...

I saw that it was 3 hours and I’m balking at watching it. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it but that is way too long for a roast

The best thing Bert ever did was influence to Natashia Leggero to follow in his shirtless footsteps after she followed his set at the Improv.mikey wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2024 12:03 pm Oh, I forgot about Segura and Bert. I listened to Glaser’s podcast today (didn’t realize she had one, but after watching her on the Baldwin roast a couple weeks ago and then on this one it came up for me), and she talked about Hart repeating jokes. She said it’s a way to amplify the best jokes and appreciated that he did it for the comedians.mikey wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2024 9:48 am I watched it yesterday. Not the best roast. She was definitely the best, followed by Hitchcliffe, Schulz and Sam Jay. Bert and Segura were the worst of the comedians for me.

If something is off-limits, then it's not a roast. Bunch of pussies. I'm glad that Jeff Ross ignored them."I think that was 100% real," Schulz said on his "Flagrant" show, explaining, "The reason why I think it's real is because they told us no jokes about happy endings with Robert Kraft."

They obviously wanted Kraft to come for the whole Belichick, Kraft, Brady reunion, so I’m sure that was his stipulation.

Yeah, there's always a little something that folks don't want in there...and you just do your best not to tread all over them...
This was Kraft and his happy endings...
Trump was don't imply that he wasn't as rich as he's made out to be...
Saget had something about either ******* the Olsen twins or something...
etc.

Jeff Ross doesn't think Brady was serious about that
who knows if Ross is just covering for Brady or what but tbh Kraft jokes are pretty low hanging fruit. Everyone and their mother has made at least 10 of them by now

Extremely unconvincing response from Ross. It's not about "low hanging fruit", what wasn't low hanging fruit there? It's a roast. Him being a gay, Gisele being a beard, deflate-gate, spy-gate, his TB12 nonsense...like, what high-brow joke subjects are in there when the whole point is trash talk?
There's no doubt in my mind that he was off-limits because they left the entire person and subject alone for the rest of the time. To not even go to that subject, when every single other possible angle was hit and hit hard for over three hours, makes it pretty clear what the rules were...

Yeah, and Ross’s response to Brady was like, yeah, I know I know, won’t do another one.

Well, I could see like joking that someone is a pedophile or joking about chilren who died of cancer or something would be off-limits as simply being in too bad of taste to make, but dude got busted in a rub and tug? How could that not be joked about? Shoot, that would be my first joke. Like, why the heck are you in a Thai massage parlor in Florida. You're worth $11 billion. You could buy Thailand for that money and have the entire country jerk you off.

I don't know what that means, and I have a feeling that I should be proud to not know what that means. Is Drake a rapper? I think Drake is a rapper. Other than that, I don't know.
