Hanging lights at our house is kind of a PITA cause I have to climb on the roof, then use the ladder to wrap our poles, but it always turns out nice. It would be nice to not have to climb on the room though. The garage I have to use the ladder, but it's not a big deal at all.

Pic below for reference haha.

I made it to 10:30ish last night before falling asleep. Then woke up for a few during the witching hour of fireworks.

At 12:05 my wife and I were woken by neighbors about 500 feet down the hill setting off fireworks. Scared the crap out of me a in a deep sleep - I don't recall them doing this in past years.

No idea how the kids slept through it.

I was in bed by 10 but mostly because yes old but started so early with all the sports. If I kept drinking I could have stayed up longer but not worth ruining the next 2 days.

I was up reading at midnight when the local VFD laid on the fire whistle for 5 minutes. Whoop.

My spazzy dog who is terrified of loud noises decided he had to go outside at 11:59. I didn't even realize what time it was so I let him out, then I too went to take a leak. As soon as I started going, someone must have shot a block of tannerite. The boom was so loud my house shook. I'm surprised my dog didn't keel over right there. Poor guy was hiding in the back yard when I got out of the bathroom to bring him in. Then he proceeded to hide behind the couch until he finally fell asleep around 2am.

Various gunshots lasted from 12-1am. Stupid f'ing rednecks.

We normally hear some fireworks in our general vicinity, but nothing too close. Last night, however, someone on the cul-de-sac around the corner from us decided to go to town for about half an hour and we had a visit from an LAPD air unit. They usually don't come in solo, so I'm guessing we also had black&whites on the ground. Yeehaw.

I hosted a little party with my girlfriend and her friends. So it ended up being me and 7 Colombian women. We listened to a **** ton of Latin music and one of them got very drunk and started crying

I ended up going to bed at 5

I'm gonna do Wet January. It's where you drink every day during the month of January but the key is to make sure you tell all your friends and family who didn't ask
