trophies that have a company name in its title, particularly when it’s integral like “FedEx Cup” are unserious and deserving of nothing but shame

not just for the shallow product placement but because if the company ends up withdrawing its sponsorship, the trophy changes names. it’s incredibly corny

i like the captains picks for the US ryder cup. i know JT will be a hot topic but hes been strong in ryder cup play and has earned a spot IMO. surprised at sam burns over cam young

edit: noticed keegan bradley left off too; thought he got a nod already.

I think it’s kind of shitty to pick JT over Cam Young

JT is a great match play player with vast experience. ZJ's goal is to win, not reward guys who had a good year however fair or unfair that may seem. Europe may have left Sergio or Poulter off a number of times if it was based just off of current year results.

I'd have maybe left Rickie off, I do like Cam Young's game and think he would do well

if ZJ wants to win they he should not have picked a guy who wasn’t in the top 70 to make the first leg of the Tour Championship

Took a very long time but finally broke 80 on a PA course today - shot a 76, which is one off my best (needed a 50-footer at the last to tie it). When you only hit 3 fairways, it’s a good thing courses are more wide open.

As much as I loathe Keegan sometimes, he seems like a goofy but nice enough guy and I know how much he loves the RC. That said, I'm fine with the picks.

Cam Young has always come off as kind of aloof. Not disinterested, but never really engaged outside the ropes. Cantlay is the same way but he's a proven machine in that tournament (and in on points as we all know anyway).

Props. Where was this at
Fairview GC outside Lebanon. It was a course that tortured me when I was in college and I finally got one back on it.

Fantastic! We should play Iron Valley sometime. @dodint enjoyed that track I recall.

I do like Iron Valley. It was the first 'destination' course I ever played, back in 2005 or so. I was broke as hell and we took a trip out there to stay with a friend in Lebanon and we played. It's also where I got to hang with shaf for a few hours which is always a pleasant time.
I've always held it in high regard.

Had the best net score at a golf outing today, using the Calloway method?

All I know is I shot 80, the net was not handicap based, but the scoring method works based off your gross. And cause I had a triple (7), that tied me with a guy that had a 77, and I beat him on the first tie breaker (best score on the 1 handicap).

Feels good, got a trophy and my name will be on the plaque. Was a strange round, 5 birdies on the day, but also a +7 3-hole stretch.

Ludvig Aberg a great Captain's pick for Europe. This is gonna be a tough task for the Americans.

Today was the 2nd time this year that I've successfully flopped a shot over a 15-20 foot object (first was a fence, today was a wall in front of the green).

I'm just shocked I got it to work twice.

Charlotte has subpar golf options but thankfully I live near a 9 hole muni (Charles Sifford) that I actually really like

what vexes me are how many people take carts here. Guess if you’re playing the 9 holes twice then it’s a little justifiable but man, if I have the option to walk 9 I’ll take it any day. It’s kind of no wonder why Americans are so out of shape

Yeah, that's one thing I've never understood about living in the Charlotte metro. Golf is terribad here.

No driving ranges anywhere.
