Not really a reason to be down on Priester right now IMO. Burrows won't pitch next year nor will Brubaker unless it's out of the bullpen late in the season so they're going to have to find guys. They have to find guys now honestly, this is ridiculous

Priester and Alldred probably get starts in the second half.

The bullpen should come back together. Incredibly Yerrydls has been good. Garcia should be healthy soon I thought. The rule 5 guy. Ramirez is back. Get rid of borucki and drop Bolton down again

So

Bednar

Holderman
Moreta
Ramirez

Mlodz
Yerry

Lefties:
Garcia
Hernandez
Perdomo

Crowe is on rehab. Ugh
Underwood and de Jong dying in AAA

So not much room for Contreras or Ortiz to relieve.

Keller
Oviedo
Hill
Bido I guess

I'd bring up Priester after the break if they want Ortiz and Contreras to regain their form in the minors. If they feel like that's rushing him then Alldred should be up for a shot. Hopefully not the 2 crappy vets getting starts down there with 6ish eras

I'm not up for a big trade. But maybe Andujar and Vilade for a 26yo low upside starter at AAA like a Bido+

Forrester has some power but will probably end up at 1B. Every pick since then is an underwhelming college pitcher that tops out as a reliever. They're either trying to save money (for who?), think they can develop these guys (lol) into quick bullpen help, or are incompetent.

I don’t think you can spend close to that past the 10th round

8 pitchers and 2 bats. 1 HS kid. Don’t know what this means but interesting how concentrated they were with college pitchers.

So when do we see Skenes - and do the Pirates try and screw him up by changing mechanics or making him throw to whatever their strategy is?

Yinzers are going to be pissed when he's not in Pittsburgh in 2024, but your date is probably more likely.

June 2025 is probably correct. They'll treat him like an invalid this year and he probably won't even pitch in a game until the last 2-3 weeks of the minor league season. Then next year he'll have like a 130 innings limit or some crap

If some miracle happens and the Pirates are within 4-5 games in August next year, they may feel pressured to call him up. I guess that depends on whether it's another year like this where the Central sucks or if they are legitimate at 10 games over .500 and fighting for the playoffs with a halfway decent team that needs pitching. Even if he came in as a reliever a la Price that may not be unrealistic.

He could get a call-up next year, but likely up for good in June 25

Hopefully we're all wrong. GMBC has definitely been far more aggressive with placement than Huntington was

He's already pitched over 120 innings this year. That's about the max for their minor leaguers. Everyone is worried about Tommy John and him pitching 120+ pitch games but now we'll complain if they limit his innings. I think he should just get a few starts at the end of this year at most.

I think his performance next year will completely determine what they do with him. If he gets to AAA and dominates he'll be up for good by the end of next year. If he gets there and does fairly well I'd keep him down unless they're in contention. This is the scenario that would get the most complaints.

Makes sense, I think Roansy and Ortiz need some meaningful time in Indy. So try to go with Keller, hill, Oviedo, bido, and priester for a chunk of time

Ydls and white are both struggling in Bradenton.

Good for pegeuro, he could push for time at SS this summer

Johnson just turned 19, he could be on a fast track
