I had to google to see if Pauly Shore transitioned. (He did not.)

The Bear season 2 is exceptional. Maybe even better than the first season. The Christmas episode gave me PTSD. Very intense.
I'm 5 episodes in and I agree. The first few seemed like just more of the same from season 1 (which was good), but that Christmas episode was on another level.

Ted Lasso S3:
- I don't give two shits about Keely's storyline.

- Sam's dad is an absolute unit.

Beef is not good. People were all about this show like it was something special. The first couple episodes were okay, the next few felt like a chore, and the most recent one went off the rails for the rules they developed for the show. Dude would not have tried to frame someone for arson or kidnapped a kid. I don’t like to say something sucks because different strokes and what not but, this show sucks.
We watched the first episode last night, and neither of us thought it was any good. Doubt we will continue it.

Finished Ted Lasso. Great show. Glad it’s only 3 seasons, just enough.

I’m not talented enough to accurately describe how incredibly horrible And Just Like That season 2 is.

Two episodes left of Jack Ryan (they are dropping them 2 at a time). Not sure how they are going to wrap it up unless the last two episodes are movie length. Very, very slow pacing and still not sure what the hell is going on so far.

Having read all of the early Jack Ryan novels, these versions of the characters seem inept.
Like we're supposed to believe Greer is a CIA lifer (I don't think he served in the Navy in the show) but doesn't have basic enough tradecraft to spot a tail multiple times.
It's just not great, very much like how I felt about Man in the High Castle. A good show that could have been great, but never got there.

On the other hand, we've watched 3 episodes of The Terminal List and it seems to be a better thriller than this season of Jack Ryan. I noticed someone said it was boring or something, but I thought the pacing was good and Chris Pratt is not playing Chris Pratt. At all.

When Jim Halpert got disarmed by a child in the jungle you kind of knew it was going to be The Blacklist level of tactical proficiency.

And that's another thing - watching the recap before this season, I remembered next to nothing about the show. This is one my wife and I watch, and we have a "no phones" policy when watching shows like this together, but none of it was memorable. That's not good.

binged through The Bear this weekend. quality television. the only ep I didn't care for was the Christmas episode. it was exactly what it was supposed to be but just way too frantic for me. and yes, I get that was the point.

Ted Lasso S3:
I enjoyed it, but it certainly wasn't great. Too much down time or story missteps for certain characters. Somewhere in there is a show considered one of the best comedies of all time, but some of the storytelling in S2 and S3 let it down. I loved it and I'm sure it'll get many rewatches in our household, but I think our tally here is one amazing season, one pretty good season, and one good season.

S3 Thoughts:
- Jamie's arc through three seasons was fantastic. Probably ended up being the best character.
- Did Juno Temple have a time commitment conflict this season? Her storyline was not good. I wasn't a fan of the breakup with Roy (him attempting to grow as a person while in a relationship would have been more interesting) and her boss was a temporary waste of time, but so much of it could have been saved if she had more than 60 seconds of interaction with the rest of the main cast each episode. She seemed to come back in full force the final three episodes, which were much better.
- I appreciate the attempt to work an analog for a legendary personality and player into the story, but Zava (like Jack) was largely a waste of time and took away from other established characters.
- Aside from why Jade suddenly stopped hating him, I thought Nate's redemption arc was actually pretty well done, even if there was a bit too much connecting the dots with his "firing" and return to Richmond. Next time maybe less time on Zoreaux wanting to be called Van Damme and more time on our temporary villain's redemption arc.
- I thought Ted became a bit too much of a side character this season, but it might have actually worked out for the better. I thought a lot of the ridiculous analogies and character quirks kind of fell flat.
- Loved that we finally got the Beard backstory.
- Hannah Waddingham is a powerhouse and deserves all the awards and future work that comes her way.

I'd agree with all of that (Zava tho at least provided the lols).

Apparently Bill Lawrence had no involvement with S3, and in looking back, it shows.

Hijack is excellent. Another Apple TV+ winner. Very intense through 4 episodes. It's like 24, where it takes place in real time - a seven hour flight from Dubai to Heathrow.

The second season of "The Lincoln Lawyer" is awful. I can't stand the actors, outside of the driver.
