Anyone watching the Allstar game? Did I hear it correctly that the nl has only lead the al for 4 innings over the last 9 years?

They hadn't won since 2012. Really?

I used to love the All Star game. NHL too. Now? I just don't want Pirates/Penguins players to get hurt/tired etc.

The MLB all-star game is the only one worth watching because baseball is the only sport where you can't half-way play like they do in the NFL/NBA/NHL. Boys and I enjoyed it last night, just wish they would go back to wearing their actual uniforms.

All of this, 100%.

I do enjoy the skills competition for the other sports, although they are getting too gimmicky and not just showing pure skill.

I remember Randy Johnson like throwing pitches over guys heads lol. But yeah it's closest to real. But it's still not interesting to me

That's because 90% of the game you could just stand there picking your nose and it wouldn't effect the outcome.
I could have played 2B or SS for the NL, or CF for the AL and I would have only had to make a play 1 time all game long. Put me at the bottom of the order and I'd have struck out three times likely, which isn't much different than the NL SS's did in going 0-3 with a walk. I literally could have replaced them in their sport's All-Star game and had zero impact on the outcome of the game.

That's why baseball is really cool and also really dumb.

Agreed. Those guys can't help but try and make every play.

While I'm biased in loving a Charlotte option, I think MLB is not putting two teams in southeast. They'll lose out to Nashville. Other team depends wholly on whether Rays or A's stay where they are. Can see Portland, Salt Lake, or Las Vegas being other if Oakland and Tampa hold.

there’d have to be a division realignment too I’d imagine, unless they want two divisions with 6 teams each

Guessing willingness to fund a stadium will drive the decision more then regional considerations

I've been a big proponent of this for many years. Now that the DH is universal, there's no reason they couldn't go to 4 divisions.

I'm sure they'll tinker with the playoff format too.
