So many counts that he had to use his hands twice to count them all.

Yup... I then saw a person that walked through some publicly available satellite imagery that shows lighting strikes and the first. It's bizarre how perfectly the two overlap with one another.

Canada just needs to rake their forests more.
Guy called into a SXM show yesterday to comment on the Trump indictment and lead off his comments with a note that the fires are all because of money spent on social services in Canada that should be going to forest management. Just like California.

I'd say Trump looks pretty dead to rights under that indictment. It will be interesting to see what sort of defense his lawyers can come up with.

I would note that based on what we already know, Biden could also be charged under the same statute.

Wanting the DOJ to prove the president doesn't have the authority to wiggle his hose and declassify documents is probably one of them.

Which one?
18 U.S.C. § 793, which makes it a federal “willfully [retain] [national defense information] and fail[] to deliver it to the officer or employee of the United States entitled to receive it." That's like the first thirtysomething counts of the Trump indictment because each document is charged as a separate count. Recall that Biden had something like 25 to 30 classified documents at a former office and also in boxes in his garage next to his Corvette.

He turned them over once they were found as did Pence so they'd have to prove the "willfully" part.

Apparently Aileen Cannon (the huge Trump supporter) is slated to be the judge to oversee this.

Hopefully she gets removed, due to her previous sham ruling during the initial investigation RE: the special master for Trump.

I don't think so. The part that is "willful" is retaining the document, not failing to return it. And for Biden (as well as Trump) no demand for a return is necessary. Subsections (d) and (e) of 18 U.S. Code § 793 have almost the exact same language, but different applications. Subsection (d) applies when someone lawfully has possession of national-defense information, and subsection (e) applies when someone has unauthorized possession (Trump is charged with violating subsection (e)). Subsection (d) requires that demand be made, but (e) does not.

(d) or willfully retains the same and fails to deliver it on demand to the officer or employee of the United States entitled to receive it;

(e) or willfully retains the same and fails to deliver it to the officer or employee of the United States entitled to receive it;

It is how it is traditionally eaten in Italy.

Here's the thing. Good. But also, I think Desantis has a better chance than trump at a general election and this seals trump's fate (I think?). So now the loonies have a better chance at winning in 2024

Nah, with the rift between team Trump and team DeSantis I think it will split the conservative vote and give a layup to Biden.
