California Doctor Charged in $150 Million Insurance Scam
An orthopedic surgeon was charged as the ringleader in one of the state's biggest health fraud schemes, which included unnecessary operations by an untrained assistant that scarred patients forever, according to indictments unsealed Tuesday.

Dr. Munir Uwaydah and 14 associates, including another doctor and a lawyer, bilked insurance companies out of $150 million in the scheme, Los Angeles District Attorney Jackie Lacey said.

Nearly two dozen patients were told Uwaydah would perform surgery on them, only to have his physician's assistant — who had not attended medical school — operate once they were under anesthesia, according to the indictment. Uwaydah wasn't even present for the surgeries.
According to another story, one patient had two feet of 'oozing' gauze removed from her surgical site after infection had set in.
The item that caught my eye was his assistant (who is part of the fraud scheme) was tried for the murder of the doctor's ex-g/f.

Is there any consensus to what the "must have" fruits and vegetables are...? Or, should I say, the most beneficial to one's health...? I'm not sure if @algernon is too healthy to eat fruits and vegetables, but if he's not, he may want to weigh in...

So far, I'm at:
1. Blueberries (as that is my favorite fruit)

The following are good sources of Omega 3 (and are antioxidants):
Sweet Red Peppers (my fave)
Broccoli
Kale
Spinach
Cauliflower

Edit: I forgot Flax seed. It's really high in Omega 3. Mix it into oatmeal, or buy cereal high in flax seed.

Edit Edit: Sweet potatoes.

Eat what is in season.

Generally speaking, if you eat what is in season then you are getting the best nutrients for that time of year. It also gives you plenty of options.

Also try to eat organic or Non-GMO. You don't need hormones or pesticides in your food.

We don't go crazy making sure everything is organic or GMO free. We stick to these yearly lists when we can.

Yeah, it's hard to stay strictly organic/non-GMO. But as far as the dirty dozen go, I stick to it.

I have not seen it here lsat year or this year.

You can pick black berries just walking around here and they are perfectly edible.

It's so cool.

Hasn't it been shown that there isn't any health detriments to eating GMO food?

Correct.

No science to show it is bad for you.

But, I'll strap in now and let the hippies have their say.

For as much logic that goes into embedded software, there are times the components plain old don't care and do what they want. Very frustrating to track problems when they disappear and reappear.
