Nick Bonino and Sidney Crosby are 56.4 and 54.9% in faceoffs this year, but where faceoffs really become crucial is in the D-zone. Crosby is a 62% taker in the DZ, Nick Bonino (who takes about half of all of his faceoffs back there) is 61.6%.

Meanwhile though, Matt Cullen and Evgeni Malkin has taken 65 combined draws in our own end and won 24...Malkin in particular is 8-19 (29.6%) in his own end. He has been eaten alive by RHS centers in this regard.

Though, this is not news (Crosby, Bonino good at draws, Geno not), it can't hurt to post...

Scuderi is leading the team in GA60 and raw GA numbers at even strength this season. Still on pace to basically hemorrhage goals all year.

You're supposed to put it on yourself, not on your HDTV.

There's lots of "Scuderi's playing well, you guys are just haters" talk. No, he's still crap. My mistake for thinking this was actually a thread to discuss the Penguins.

does "most goals against on the team" really mean he's "bad"? someone has to lead that category...considering we're 5th in least goals against per game in the season, I don't think it's that bad...

Is talking about something as obvious as Scuderi being on for goals against really something you want to do?

Scuderi doesn't...

GA/60:
1. Ian Cole 2.34
2. Kris Letang 2.21
3. Rob Scuderi 1.61

And regardless, through 8 games, Scuderi is the only regular d-man that has not been individually responsible for an ES GA. Letang at 4.5 and Cole at 6.5 have been disasters in that regard...

Cole, by far, has been our worst d-man this year...
