Might as well hit all these milestones this season. No sense waiting at this point.

A rare game to watch this year. Outshot badly all game which rarely happens but is Carolina's thing. Carried a small lead into the third. And then played in Carolina's end much of the last 12 minutes. The lead never felt threatened. Carolina didn't hit 6 posts. Weird game.

O'Connor keeps impressing. He gets ahead of himself a few times but he's pulling things off I didn't expect from him. Rusty Guentzel things. Second and third effort with his stick and small accurate touches to win battles and make opportunities.

Poolparty was insane. He was bullying guys out there. What a treat to watch.

I kept rewinding when I noticed Poulin out there. He moved around pretty well but yeah nothing to note

It was fun watching Letang give guentzel 4 legal whacks his first time behind the net. Then the next time guentzel pulled him down and mounted him drawing big boos from the crowd lol

Puljujarvi gotta realize that he’s really big …and the only way he stays in the league is to play big. He played that way last night. If he makes it a habit, he’s a good find

That's been one of his knocks all career, IIRC.

This is an interesting subject to me. I think often we say this, but it’s pretty black and white you know? Player either has hockey sense or doesn’t. But in reality it’s a spectrum of hockey sense. It seems like a lot of guys with crappy hockey sense are able to carve out decent careers, Evan Rodrigues for example.

What am trying to say is maybe Poolparty has poor hockey IQ, but maybe not poor enough to not end up being a decent third or fourth liner considering his size

It took me a while in life to realize this. I initially thought you had it or didn't...but not only does it exist on a spectrum, but there's nuance within it. There's anticipation, mental processor, spatial awareness, etc.

video game players have known that for years. it's called offensive and defensive awareness ratings

(I say that mostly facetiously)

that said, I never really knew how those stats actually affected the characters in the game; especially player controlled characters. if I had two players that had the same exact ratings except one had a 99 offensive and defensive awareness rating and one at a 0, would I notice the difference if I controlled them?
