I don't know how many of these writers - who have all the subtlety of the people that ruin gags between friends, like when you're trying to convince a friend that Tom Hanks was in Star Wars and stupid Yohe comes along and goes "no, he wasn't!" and everyone is like, "ssshhh, come on...we're tryin' to..." and then Yohe goes, "oh, ohhhhh, actually...on a second thought, he was..." - were around for that...

That would be a reasonable offer. A first round pick for 2025 would also interest me, as the draft will almost certainly be better and the Rangers could easily finish lower in the standings next season.

I mean obviously I value mikeys opinion but I'm sure there are a bunch of other mikeys that may say something completely different. Other than lack of standout talent at the top, who's to say there aren't quality players available? Maybe the 28th pick is just as good as the 12th, in which case why not acquire the 28th?

I value mikey's opinion as well, but I've also read quite a few articles about the draft class and the general consensus seems to be that the draft is strong with defensemen and weak to average with forwards.

Your point is valid, however, about the draft being deep but perhaps not top heavy, and the 28th pick might yield just as good a player as a pick in the middle. I don't know the players well enough in this year's draft to be able to determine that.

I feel like if it's Kakko then the other prospect has to be Othmann or Perreault....I don't think NYR would do that. The first is nice but would still prefer another prospect further along.

The draft is a crapshoot, and it seems the Pens scouts tend to no draft great no matter where they draft. If they overhaul the scouting department I'd feel better, but as it stands right now unless the Pens pick like top 5....it just feels like they tend to not have the same values as everyone else on players.
