Very poor call

I feel like if refs can use judgement to call a goal "immenent" after a whistle similar to rakell earlier this year, they should be able to use that same judgment for an obvious goal despite minimal goalie contact.

Isn’t that exactly what they do with a goalie interference challenge?I feel like if refs can use judgement to call a goal "immenent" after a whistle similar to rakell earlier this year, they should be able to use that same judgment for an obvious goal despite minimal goalie contact.

Pretty sure it's just a challenge for contact in the crease. The only judgement is who and how the contact was initiated. Guentzel touched him, so no goal. Touching him had no impact on the play, though.Isn’t that exactly what they do with a goalie interference challenge?I feel like if refs can use judgement to call a goal "immenent" after a whistle similar to rakell earlier this year, they should be able to use that same judgment for an obvious goal despite minimal goalie contact.
That said, goalie interference calls have always been whacky.

Surprised that move didn’t fall for Jake. I thought he sold the backhand enough to get the 5-hole open enough.

I guess that's why this guy played over Michael Houser at Rochester
