I had some time for Rathbone, talented d-man, back in the day...point per game d-man in AHL 2022

I don't know Plasek really...seen the name, but no idea what his game is.

What's the process for this trade look like? Two AHL gms looking for players of a different ilk? Doesn't seem to be any actual upside involved for either nhl team at this point

Was Friedman in the minors already? The only explanation I can garner is waiver eligibility? I didn't mind Friedman as an 8/9 but I'm not losing sleep over it lol

Maybe Friedman requested to be moved due to realizing he had 2-3 guys ahead of him on the depth chart and this was Dubas's attempt to do right by the player

This likely came from the Asst GMs. Two players that no one has ever heard of involved. Two fringe NHLers. Likely asst GMs taking that upstairs to the boss and going, "Hey, here's why..."

And like mr said, maybe Friedman is just looking for a chance to play...

Rathbone is the most skilled player in the deal, but I actually kind of like Friedman. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it either, but I like him in the 7 hole. Also 13 forward in a pinch. Hope he plays in Vancouver.

Veteran limits for AHL lineups, as Friedman was down in WBS.

I agree. I can't say I was a big fan of him. He had some good moments, brought some grit, then turn around and forget where he is on the ice. I too, will not lose sleep over it.
