How many points will Crosby finish his career with?

I predict that Crosby will play four more seasons (36, 37, 38, 39) and average about 75-80 points for those seasons, and this would put him right around 1800 points for his career.

I have good reason to hope he makes it past 1600 @mikey

Realistically, hard to say. Injuries are the biggest variable. He could get concussed this year, they miss the playoffs, he comes back next year for the farewell tour and that's it. He will struggle to hit 1600 in this case

If the Penguins suck this year and next, miss the playoffs both years or bow out in the first round, and have nobody in the pipeline to show promise beyond 2025, I can see Sid saying that's it. 1600-1680 pts

They win the Cup this season or next, in which case Sid decides to go out on top. 1650-1700 pts

They don't win the Cup with the big 3 still intact, but draft/acquire high end talent along the way to start the next Gen of Penguin greatness. Sid decides to stick around as 2C/3C and let the new guys settle in before hanging them up in his 40s. 1700-1922 pts.

Sidbot emerges and goes Gordy Howe. 1922-2300 pts

I'm thinking anywhere between the 2nd and 3rd cases above: 1650 pts.
