I suppose yes because of the Norris but I think Hossa is one of the best deadline deals I’ve seen. It certainly elevated the team enough to get to the finals and almost got a cup from it.

I think Hossa had a bigger impact at the time with the team on a meteoric rise. EK is a move they’re hoping gets them back in the playoffs and out of the first round.

Hes a 3 time norris winner and a top 5 defenseman in the league over the last 15 years. This is as big as it gets. Immediately a top 3, probably top 2 defenseman ever to play here.

Two of the biggest issues with this team last season were lack of scoring from the blue line, and the ineffectiveness of the power play.

This changes the entire game plan against this team. Karlsson will elevate every other guy on that power play.

Thinking a bit beyond the obvious even strength and PP but…..I think we have a pretty bad record in 3-on-3 OT recently. He should help in that regard. Not sure about his shootout history.
