His +/- was greatly affected by empty net goals against, yes...but as anyone can plainly glean from just the highlights that I posted earlier, he plays defense like a beer leaguer who thinks he's too good for the league...

I don't think there's a worse top-4 d-man in the NHL at playing defense, especially in his "I'm not feeling" times...when he cares, he cares, and tries to make it work a little...but on the whole, he's bottom of the barrel. Literally a fourth forward. San Jose's NZ transition game actually has a forward begin to cover for him starting around their own blueline...

But again, **** it...go down swingin'...entertain me.
