During this transition, the managerial duties of hockey operations will be shared among current Director of Hockey Operations, Alec Schall, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton General Manager/Manager of Hockey Operations, Erik Heasley and Hockey Operations Analyst, Andy Saucier. Head Coach Mike Sullivan will also assist during the transition.

I'm not sure if this is a vote of confidence for Sully or if we just needs cohesion until a new regime comes in and makes a decision on him.

He'll be gone eventually. Need guys around for the draft in 2ish months. Not going to have an entirely new scouting department of opinions that matter by then. Unfortunately, that also means this draft is likely to be a waste because of leadership change.

This is what I hate about the NHL. The guy is a good coach? Must be good at a front office position. Played goalie well but like an uncontrolled asshat for over a decade? Lets make him a GM.

That's not a shot at KC, just a shot at the cronyism that pervades NHL staffs. One good thing about a sports management group like FSG is maybe they'll adopt an approach that considers things like experience and qualifications instead of how many degrees of separation you are from a Sutter.

I legit don't know that anyone actually knew what Burke did. When he was hired on, he was getting questions and they weren't being explained clearly.

Honestly, it was a really odd hiring and one of the lone missteps of the Lemieux/Burkle machine.
