First and foremost, the GM needs to somehow make sure Jeff Carter is LTIR’d with some sort of abdominal injury
we’ll get the guy who shanked Boner

Wow Bourque crushing the team right now for not having the will.
I don’t see that at all. It wasn’t will. It’s that half of the team is straight mud
I agree. I think the will was plenty there. But arguably, and I'm not saying this to be dramatic...how many guys are for-sure NHLers on this team?

The top six. Five of the D. I think that's safe.

Not shown tonight, but probably DOC as a 4. Archibald is a standard issue 12/13, right? I think that's fair for him at this point. But then are we sure about the other guys...assume you could get a look and retain the knowledge of the 500th to 900th best players in the world...would you watch, say, Carter or Granlund or Heinen or POJ or whoever and go "yeah, no, they belong above that group that I just saw...?" I'm trying to keep my head here, but is that unfair...?

This loss hopefully will result in the house cleaning that is badly needed, and saves us from getting waxed by the Bruins.

It’s cliche but it’s impossible to be good in this league if you don’t have a supporting cast. The Pens supporting cast is truly near the worst in the league

Carter, Nylander, and Heinen a line tonight: there’s almost a 100 percent chance that not one of those guys are playing in the NHL next year if it wasn’t for Hextall giving carter a two year deal

Granlund, if not traded to the pens, would probably have been bought out by the Predators this off-season

That's just a really, really bad loss...as far as regular season losses go, it's hard to think of a worse one in a while...

Games like that happen. They didn’t have the best luck today.

But this team shouldn’t even be in a must win spot.

Yeah, totally. Like, Sid came to play and his group came to play. Mrazek was great. And there's just no guys that can play in the 24, 25, 28, 30 minutes that old Malkin and Crosby can't play...

Pens fans are pissed. Blackhawks fans are pissed. Nobody exists on purpose. Nobody belongs anywhere. Everybody's gonna die. Come watch TV

Well, like I said previously we have a bottom 5 shooting percentage. Last year we were near the top 5. Games like this are gonna happen more often when you need 40 shots to score 1 goal

This team is so disappointing.
If they can’t beat the **** Blackhawks, they don’t deserve the playoffs.
Hawks, Sharks, 3 against the Canadiens, and on and on. They're playing this game exactly like they've played the last few years in the playoffs. A bunch of choking dogs.
An old, soft, small team that doesn’t have that much speed and doesn’t have as much skill as they think. Toss in a PP that isn’t very good and awful goaltending.

How are they even sniffing a playoff spot? On the backs of 3 elite players? That’s pretty crazy….this isn’t basketball.

All the issues that have popped up this year have been going on for 3-4 seasons now without being properly addressed.

We blew a 3-1 series lead to NYR last year to kill the season. To end this season we just lost a must win game to the worst team in the league. Agh.
Tonight might be the first night that I've ever questioned Sullivan. Yes, the team outside of 7-8 players is straight mud and that's on that dumbass Hextall for such a poor construct. But goodness, how many times this year did they lose to crap teams like the Sharks, Canadiens, and Hawks at home after coming off a back to back? How many times did they yak leads because they have zero situational awareness (even from the veteran players!)? Why does the power play do the same thing over and over again as Sweet Georgia Brown plays in the background? What's that all come back to? Coaching. I hate to say it but you don't lose 5 straight playoff series by accident. You can blame goaltending or injuries or whatever but at some point, you have to see what's wrong and adjust the system accordingly. Let me be clear -- I'm not saying fire Sully. But I think we need some new assistants and some new thinking on the bench alongside Sully.

Assistants? What a cop out. How'd that work out last time?

1 playoff series win since 2017. Tear it down man.
