Winnipeg players (speaking generally) are a known problem around the league...they're actually asking for this...Crosby, Malkin, Letang, etc. aren't cancers, so they don't get these kinds of things said...

I’m out of touch. I had no idea Bowness was coaching Winnipeg.

Granlund has been dog poop.
You're being kind. He's not that good.

I think we all know that Pittsburgh is goofy for the hits stat...but it's very funny that Granlund (a hit every other game player for his career) has 13 hits in 13 games here...I don't think he's even closed the bench door hard enough to warrant that...

Imagine if we find out that Jarry was dealing with a hip injury for a large portion of the season and Ron Hextall though the appropriate move was to bring an an overpriced third liner instead of shoring up the most important position in hockey

Yeah that would definitely turn the fan base against Hextall. It's a shame because he's so beloved right now.

Even aside from the goaltending situation, the fact that he cleared a good portion of cap space by jettisoning several forwards who were considered to be dead space, only to replace them with a more expensive, older forward who is also dead space, was a baffling move.

If Granlund were in the last year of his deal, or if he only cost a low pick, or some of the salary was retained, then maybe it was a gamble worth taking.. perhaps you get lucky and catch lightning in a bottle with a guy in the last year of a contract. But none of those things are true in this case. When your AHL affiliate is bare and you're up against the cap, picks and cap space are precious. It's still early, but it appears that he squandered both with the acquisition of Granlund.

They must assume he's hitting someone for the amount of times we see him down on the ice.

I did that too! I figured the 1st intermission moneyline was a good bet for covering that bet or potentially winning twice. I'm gonna send CDS an invoice. What I should have done is taken the **** over.

@meow I know he’s not a starter how can a professional goalie be THAT bad at moving around in the crease? It’s like he has no spatial awareness

Well. He’s not bad at moving around the crease. It’s literally his best attribute. His issue is that he can’t read plays. So he has to rely on his athleticism to crackle around the crease. And when you live by that, you die by that. Think early career Fleury. He could T-push into orbit and did it frequently. But Fleury could/can read plays infinitely better than CDS.

Perron’s first goal last night. Yeah he masked it a bit by rolling his wrists over late, but CDS might have had his eyes closed on it. He got over and out and it still got blown by him. Can’t read plays. Can’t read shots. Can’t read shooters.
