The entire list lacks context. Is it top 25 right now? Or top 25 based on potential?
If it's "right now" then shouldn't smith/PO be 1-2?
If it's potential, then we should probably be concerned that our #2 generously has a 3rd pairing ceiling...

I think it's based on likely potential with a mix of "proximity"...

One of the top 5 U25 players on the team is a 24 year old with one career NHL game...?
Don't you know? If Sully would just get over his hate of "young guys" and play Jeffrey Tangradi Zohorna Nylander Puustinen, he might be able to play 11 minutes a night at the NHL level!

Wow, yeah, that's an improbable stat line for how (relatively) poor he was in junior...KHL u20 scoring currently:
Matvei Michkov 26 pts in 30 (7th overall '23, PHI)
Mikhail Ilyin 18 in 36 (5th round '23, PIT)
Nikita Artamonov 14 in 29 (2024 eligible)
Daniil But 13 in 28 (12th overall '23, ARZ)
Timur Mukhanov 12 in 37 (6th round '23, CAR)
Time for another viewing.

So we really have jack **** in the system right? Maybe Yager in like 4 years, or Pickering in the same time frame, but really a whole bunch of junk? I'm not overreacting right?

I'm due for a re-evaluation of some of these guys. But, no, you're not overreacting. This has been the same story since Heinbuck left...So we really have jack **** in the system right? I figured as much. Trading away picks for cup runs and other random things eventually leads you to having nothing in the system, but it's still pretty depressing.I'm due for a re-evaluation of some of these guys. You'd still think they could find at least someone who could contribute with the later picks, but this team has just been dreadful at drafting recently. Kirill Tankov pacing the VHL (top Russian minor league) playoffs with five goals in the first five games. He had the 3rd period game winner today in a 2-1 win.
SKA Neva St. Petersburg will attempt to finish off Orsk on the 4th, they're up in the series as the 7 seed (vs. 10) 3 games to 2.
