The last view they showed was perfect. You could see the skate past the line and the puck still in the blue.

A slash is considered a violent penalty so it’s still enforced. A hook, on the other hand, would not be called.

Nah, that's the "right" call...there's a logic aspect to it that I get, but he still committed a foul...
If Ceci cut his head off with an ax, you can't say, "well, no major, the play was offside..."

it just logically doesn't flow. if a goal is reversed because the play didn't happen, why do we pick certain other things that still count? another instance of this league being in the stone age

it makes sense; does the rule book define the “categories” or is it up to the ref’s discretion?

This is actually an advanced concept...
Not counting everything that happens because it's in "pretend" world would be stone age...that's simpler...

I totally get if it was a violent play. You would think the refs would have discretion for that situation. To say all slashes are violent is a little strange

An injury can happen because of a slash. I think it’s as simple as that.

An injury can happen because of a slash. I think it’s as simple as that.
This is a league that judges severity of a penalty or suspension by if a guy actually got hurt. But in this case we use the possibility of getting hurt
