Crosby initiated there....so he didn’t need to be defended....but I’m not sure there is another team in the league that doesn’t have players step in there and get their captain’s back. You see that with the crease scrums and goalie interferences as well. No impact on the outcome of this game but speaks to the overall makeup of the team, their identity and overall sofffness.

It really stood out. It’s like he was begging for help. On top of all his other duties he has to be the muscle now as well? He has to clear our crease? He has to play the role of agitator and engage with scrub grinders on the other team? Him clearing the crease so demonstrably was a shot across the bow of our team, not the NYI. It was so embarrassing.

Pettersson is good yet unsexy. People spend too much time worrying about him.

Too many minutes leads to too many worries. He’s a good 5/6, bad 3/4.
