As a fan, it would be nice to see a coach, a player, someone speak up in the media and give us something other than diplomatic cliches and the same old "we'll do better next time" speech

I don't know why MJ didn't start Fleury vs Flyers in such a crucial game and I don't know why he put out Kunitz in the end when they scored a goal. He has been a bad bench manager all season. But I think this team just doesn't have the horses, for the most part.

Team has been a man down during most of the games recently. They have to be tired. Add in getting screwed by offcials they are mentally spent. The coaches need to figure out how to milk out a 3-0 lead into a win especially a 3-1 lead going into the 3rd.

Ben Lovejoy was absolutely PUTRID in this game. He was on ice for the last 3 Senator goals. I just re-watched the replays. On first goal, the putz goes behind the net for some reason even though the action is in front then doesn't have time to set up in front. On goals 2 and 3, he basically tries playing goalie and screens Fleury. We gave up Despres for him. I would trade him for a bad pick this summer, just to get him off the team.

I agree. I feel like this team needs a coach that will light a fire under their ass, and do so in front of the media. It doesn't even have to be sensational, but it's readily apparent that these players need some serious motivation.

no professional athlete worth their salt needs a coach to "light a fire under their ass" when a playoff spot is on the line. they know what is at stake. this is one the players for packing it in halfway through the game.

I think the part of me that wants them to miss the playoffs is hoping that missing the playoffs is what it will take to get these dummies to quit acting like they are entitled to wins and start actually earning them.

They're worried about sweeping them with minimal effort, making themselves rusty for round 2.

Most of you know I've been behind this team even through the direst of previous circumstances.

I don't even know what to think now. It was 3-0. How the flying **** do you blow a 3-0 lead?

I hope we make the playoffs. I'm not counting on it, at this point.

Lol some of you are silly. Want to blow up the roster? Makes sense. But the idea that trading players for warm cups of beer is just silly. Control the explosion. Shift the focus in age to a younger roster. Allow age to walk and look to add youth in free agency and through trades. See what's available, but don't maneuver just to maneuver. Lovejoy was bad, but he's been good overall. He's going to be big for the Pens in the next few seasons. You have a few young defensemen coming up that will relieve the pressure on the cap when you save 6 million when Martin and Erhoff leave. You can reinvest that into the forwards. That opens up the world to you. The only player I trade for a warm cup of beer is Scuderi. And mostly that is just to dump contract.

I can't remember the last time I saw a team have sooooo much trouble getting the puck out of the zone. What contributes to the horrible exits? Was Ottawa's forechecking that good? It was like a bunch of amateurs out there

Anyone have any confidence that the Pens can beat the Isles at home in a game that means something? yeah me either....

Then we get Buffalo who will probably have already sewn up last place in points so they will try to ruin the Pens day by actually attempting to win a game.

Just laughable all around.
