Score on one or more of the power plays - we don't hear a peep about this. STFU and STFD Poile.

I don't have a problem with him continuing to vent on that. You obviously never know how the game would have played out had they got that goal. But, have to think he should give the Pens credit for killing those power plays in the last 10 of the game.

I've read that comparison a number of times, and still don't get it. They aren't really comparable.

They're comparable in the sense that they were both the correct calls. But my bringing it up was more to poke fun at Sabres fans still carrying that cross.

So, is one total goal acceptable and able to win in games 5 and 6 of the Stanley Cup Final...I'm not sold...

What about the savior Pekka making the Preds dominance in games 1 and 2 mean nothing?

75% save percentage in games played in Pittsburgh isn't going to get you a Conn Smythe trophy.

They had two calls go against them. One was a valid but close offside call. If you want that play to be reviewable then almost not offside is the same as offside by a yard. Either keep the replay and call them all or get rid of the replay. The second was an unfortunate early whistle but you can't count goals scored after the whistle without inviting total chaos and making the game even more difficult to officiate than it already is.

They had all game to make up for those calls - got away with murder in game 2 and had no calls against them in game 6. You want to win a Cup? Don't go 37 minutes without giving up a shot but 43 without making a save. Don't go 123 minutes without a legitimate goal against a "rookie" goalie and don't absolutely suck on the power play when you need it most.

Bump on the 4-year anniversary. Always fun to read through these and remember the emotional roller coaster involved.

I was in a BWW outside of Milwaukee ahead of the US Open at Erin Hills. Watched it with a few co-workers who if they didn't already know or hadn't been exposed to it, finally understood my crazy when it comes to watching playoff games.

top odds for next season:

Pens +850
Oilers +1000
Lightning (???) +1000
Caps +1000
Blackhawks +1200

no respect for the Preds who are +1500
I'm fully expecting an early exit for the Pens next year. These guys have played a ridiculous amount of hockey and eventually it'll catch up to them. At least there isn't a made-up international tournament this year.

I had completely forgotten about that made-up tournament until just now. What a cultural impact it had.
