It’s amazing how adding a third line center takes our forward group from ridiculously top heavy to lethally balanced.
Kind of reminds me how big of a failure Brassard was here in Pittsburgh.
That son of a dodint could have bought in and played a team game. Instead he pouted. **** loser.
A good third line center and they would have made a real run at the threepeat. Instead they spent all their deadline coin on that dadhole.

Some quotes from Isles fans from HF Boards:

Isles can shut down the Pens and neutralize them

From one of their mods:

The Pens offense these last few games has been coming from the corpse of Jeff Carter, they are staring down an eventual rebuild, I want them as the matchup.

After those last 3 games vs the caps i want no part of that. Bring on sid and company.

Pittsburgh has been playing really well as of recently, so momentum is in their favor. I give us the edge in net, peppering DeSmith or Jarry is going to be key.

If it’s purely goalie v goalie we win 9/10 times

I've been wrong before, but I forsee us spanking the Pens

Historically, the Islanders have given the Pens issues in the postseason. I can understand their fans thinking that will continue.

kessel was completely done at that point, and it seemed like the rest of the team decided they just couldn't do another hero act.

wilson gets suspended for games 4-6. we squeak out game 4 with the caps throwing a hissy fit about the suspension. they were completely on the ropes at that point. and we then play like dogshit in 5 + 6 and go out with a whimper.

i think capable officiating wins us game 3 (like...i still can't believe how bad we got f'd) and then i bet we win the series. but Tampa would have obliterated us.

How do you remember any of this? I can’t remember what I did on Saturday

Game 3 bothers me more than any game ever. It’s etched.

Pens in 4 and none of the games are close.

Petterson is the only player in the lineup who I would just throw into the trash and accept whoever is randomly selected in his place.

2016 was the only time I thought we were this complete. That year, the trash guy was Eric Fehr.

Didn’t Fehr score a big goal in that Caps series though?

He did.

He also took a hooking penalty with less than 10 seconds left against San Jose in game 6, which was a big party popper.

But overall he didn’t fit. Too slow and uncreative for that team.

 So the worst thing he did was take a penalty in garbage time after the Cup was already in the bag.

It's not going to be an easy series but I'm pretty confident they're not going to get swept and embarrassed.

The reason I wanted the one seed (besides home ice) in such a close race was that we would be getting the coldest team. The Isles won like three of their last ten and lost to GOAT Michael Houser twice. Also doesn't hurt that we won 6 out of 8 against them. No playoff series is easy but this is as good as it gets on paper this year

Fehr was such a weird player. Never lived up to his draft position but hung around the league for a long time as a bottom six guy who still absolutely refused to use his size for anything. Satan and Sykora dished out more hits than Fehr did.

Meanwhile in the mean streets of the Swiss A League he has 153 PIMs in 50 games this season.

Fehr was ok. But once we got rolling that year, all of his shifts were just like...”ok but we ALL can’t skate that fast. I’m gonna sit over here. You guys do it.”

He was fine. Provided a RH face-off man and penalty killer. Sullivan trusted him.

1) Injuries
2) Getting sucked into distracting nonsense against the Caps

...that's all i'm concerned about. otherwise, cup #6
I'd be concerned about the Isles dumbing down the game like Trotz always does and causing us to sweat out 2-1 games where a Pens mistake is magnified times 100.

I remember that I was pumped when we signed Fehr since he was considered one of the best 3Cs in the league...
