Malkin has like 100 points in his last 82 games, no...?
Points per game over the past two seasons is higher than Sid.

From pens Facebook

Evgeni Malkin underwent successful surgery on his right knee.

The procedure was performed by head team physician Dr. Dharmesh Vyas and Freddie H. Fu of UPMC Sports Medicine, at UPMC Montefiore Hospital.

Malkin was injured after a collision during the game on March 16 vs. the Boston Bruins. He was sidelined for the final six weeks of the regular season, as well as Games 1 and 2 of Round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Malkin is expected to be unavailable for training camp in September. The team expects to have a more definitive time frame for his return at that time.

Was that the hit from the spawn of Mark Tinordi?

Malkin is a 3 time Stanley Cup Champion, 2 time Art Ross winner, 7 time all star. He’s won the Conn Smythe and the Hart trophies. He has nothing left to prove.

No, it is oddly quiet, at least in the reality realms. Talk about "I'll just go to Russia" to try to up the $. However, there is also talk about not signing him so that they can protect someone else in the ED, but that is not really how it works as he would still be pickable and then not allowed to sign back with Washington (that goes with the "people talking out their butts when they don't have a clue what they are talking about" section of "professionals" on the internet).

I think it’s deeper than that. I could envision Sid embracing a lesser role as he ages and move to a 3c but I don’t see Geno being able to do that.

I’ve always described it that way in my head. If Staal doesn’t do that, I don’t think we win the series. Which would have spawned an awful timeline.

Obviously, somewhere in the past the timeline skewed down into this tangent creating an alternate 1985.

Malkin most dangerous Penguin in the post season on a knee with torn ligaments and a brace..and ya'll wanna trade him for pucks. c'mon man. He missing some time recently but the Pens are infinitely better with him then without him. Unless this is tear it down start over rebuild, you keep him because you can't replace his production coming back the other way for a team trying to win now.

The problem with Malkin, is they're better with him for 25-30 games. I feel like he gets hurt enough, and it takes him 15-20 games to warm back up to Geno levels, just for him to get hurt again.

Are they still in win now mode? 3 straight first round exits, a barren farm system, and aging veterans. If the playoffs these past 3 years have shown anything it’s that a well coached defensive team can and has waited for blunders from this group and capitalized on them.

I have zero interest in being the Red Wings who are still in shambles from holding on too long

What do you think about a Foligno? Probably too old and will get $6 million for a couple of years? Carter was a better add than I thought he would be at a similar age...

Did we lose because we played a defensive team? Seems like we had our way with the Isles and lost because we couldn't keep pucks out of our net, but not even because of our team play, but because our goalie was giving up bad goals and there aren't other NHL goalies lying around in our system to make a change to...

16 goals and 231 shots to 21 goals and 187 shots. We had over 400 shot attempts in six games. We controlled the pace of most of the series. They had to swap goalies to try to get the series going their way. Our goalie couldn't get to a 9 out of 10 shots coming his way.

I'm not sure that's where that chunk of money can go. I think it's really about just what do we determine is the root cause of our demise under this new regime and then there's going to be an influence over what we lose in the ED...
