Weber was signed the day Rutherford quit. Rutherford actually told Morehouse that he was out and Morehouse asked him to first finish the Weber deal before making his resignation official.

Morehouse said it in one of the GMJR is gone interviews. It was said on screen. I do not remember the exact quote, but Iwant to say "help with" was part of it.Where did you see/hear that Jim?Weber was signed the day Rutherford quit. I looked on the Pens site and the only transition interview I found there was with Allvin. Other than saying "um" about 18,000 time in 12 minutes he didn't say anything worth listening to. Nothing on there with Morehouse.

Re-routing, as this is not expansion related...I think we're going to attempt to spend some money on goaltending in free agency...I think they're going to want someone for just in case scenarios - like we had with Fleury several times - and having CDS in that role and no #3 isn't the answer. Acquiring #3's is usually pretty silly, especially when you have one already on the books...so I'd think Halak or Ullmark (who seems more palatable now after the Driedger contract) or someone like this to help solidify things...I think Halak and his style might be a more natural fit for Tristan Jarry to work with and learn from, assuming he wants to get better...he has a lot of tools, more than most...but I want to see some real progress in his game after he was publicly pants'd against the Isles...

Oh yeah. Ullmark would be marvelous. I’m going to assume he will be out of our price range. The UFA goalie market is actually decent this year. A few guys that would be a good veteran #2

I'm heartened by the Driedger deal...I think GMs will look around at Bobrovsky, Price's exposure, Holtby, etc. and look at how bad those deals went and think twice about overpaying for UFA tendies...could be a reasonable marketplace...

I can see ullmark come in at 3.5-4 which the Penguins can and should do.

At that price, you 100 percent do that.I can see ullmark come in at 3.5-4 which the Penguins can and should do.
I’m starting to wonder if Hextall has something up his sleeve, like something pretty big. Everything I’ve heard is that Malkins knee was shredded and he’s gonna be on the IR for a longg time. If they move Pettersson and use that LTIR space, there’s lots of options to retool this team quickly with that space

Ullmark doesn't solve anything. You can say that Buffalo is bad in front of him, but I will say that he hasn't done anything to show that he is not as bad as what is in front of him too.
He is just a different name than what the Penguins have now. That is literally the only thing that he brings.

Ullmark has shown me that his talent level is interesting enough to seriously consider...just like Nedeljkovic was...

I'd still like to see how Jarry fares with a new goalie coach.

Ullmark was 9-6-3. The remaining Buffalo goaltenders were 6-23-3.Ullmark doesn't solve anything. You can say that Buffalo is bad in front of him, but I will say that he hasn't done anything to show that he is not as bad as what is in front of him too.

He quite literally made them competitive.
Hes 28 and is a great candidate for a 1-1A tandem.

His "competition" on that team was Hutton and Tokarski. Somebody had to be "the best" out of the grab bag, and I doubt it would have been the guy that played 1 NHL games over the last 5 years.
He is not a great candidate for 1-1A, he is a candidate for 2A-2B on a team that doesn't have a group of goaltenders that were found in a box on the side of the road.
