Re: QO for the Big Czech
In 2016 we decided to let promising, hungry players on the ice for games of consequence. And it worked. Considering we have a guy like ZAR and (formerly) McCann who feel no inclination towards applying effort unless it’s on their terms, the pivot to setting your playoff lineup card based only on salary and tenure is a top 10 grievance in the post-cup Sullivan era. And I expect to not see Big Czech on the ice when it matters.

A QO for ZAR!?
The internet told me the Penguins were afraid of extending a QO because his analytics PROVING that he’s the greatest defensive forward to ever live would guarantee an arbitration award of one million billion dollars!!

I think there's a decent chance ZAR files for arbitration.

IMO Bonino for cheap would be okay considering Geno looks to be out for a longer stretch. So basically Bonino and Carter rotate 2c and 3c as needed until Geno is back. Then both of them are on the 3rd line.Soon to be UFA's:

1.) **** Bonino
2.) Bonino isn’t willingly coming back to this team as long as HCMS is still around
3.) The top of this new management team has no championship affinity or relationship for Bonino, so it’s not like they would be bringing back their own retread
4.) How many times does this need to be said? **** Bonino.

I can't remember. Was Bonino an NTP66 (whatever slur that translates to) on his way out?

That was Brassard.

Bonino was a NTP66 his entire last season here.

Bonino was our best 3C since Staal

For real.
- Bonino’s last season here was a contract year.
- He was a pissy dodint because Phil being a pissy dodint about being a 3rd line winger meant Bonino lost a linemate that would help boost he point totals and his future contract.
- He was always a pissy dodint about ice time, especially special teams usage. Much like Staal he has delusions of grandeur about being something other than a 3C.
- He left Pittsburgh as a free agent without even hearing an offer from the team, pulling a reverse Hossa and throwing shade at the Pittsburgh fans by stating how exciting it would be to play in front of the brain dead red neck losers in Nashville and that the arena atmosphere always made them his top choice.
Quit being a bunch of **** harboring for the return of a now washed up, deluded third line center whose reputation is primarily built on a cup run where he got the benefit of playing with the best winger on the team. He didn’t like playing here, he didn’t like the coaching staff, he didn’t like the fans, and thankfully he ain’t coming back.

- In general he harbored resentment against the coaching staff that the two cup run years saw valuable ice time go to young, newly called up players instead of bald ass veterans like him. In his final season his ice time frustrations grew as Jake came up and took even more even strength and PP ice time away from him. By the time the 2017 playoffs rolled around he was playing with Carter Rowney as his RW. That’s not how you get paid as a free agent."I think throughout my career, in Anaheim I had a really good year. I got a lot of power play time and then I got traded away," Bonino said. "In Vancouver, I didn't get a lot of power-play time. I had a lot of even strength. I got traded away then and then in Pittsburgh, it's great to be behind [Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin], but at the same time, coming from playing more minutes the two years previous, at least even strength wise, you want to do more."

He’s cheap, he’s a center, and the Pens need centers. The bin of UFA centers is derelict in general.
