Whitney always talks about murley on his podcast. Allegedly a hilarious guy - by Whitney standards.

What I remember about him is that I think his last NHL action was when he injured himself in a pointless fight. I forget if he broke his hand or scrambled his brains but he never made it back to the big show after that. At least not with the pens anyways. I know he sucked and all, but that's a rough way to exit the league.
Yep. Same recollection. Think it was his shoulder.

I remember Murley barley making the team as a rookie along with Ryan Malone. They both got in fights the final exhibition game I guess to show how bad they wanted it. I don't think he lasted long with the Pens and really don't recall him much in the NHL. He was an RPI guy taken in rd 2 or 3 I think. He was supposed to be good defensively, high hockey IQ and seems like he was a center in college.

Yes, he was one of those 2nd round picks that didn't really pan out. Still, making a living for two decades playing a sports and getting to see the world a little doesn't sound too bad.

Good comparable for Conor Sheary...Viktor Arvidsson (https://www.hockey-reference.com/player ... dvi01.html). Sheary better points per game but Arvidsson had much worse centers...Arvidsson is a better defensive player...

Nashville ask: 2 yrs x $2.75 mil per
Player ask: 1 yr, $4.5 mil

Hard to imagine Sheary having a stronger case than Arvidsson .

Well they have more time to get it done

Pittsburgh Penguins
D Brian Dumoulin (July 24)
F Conor Sheary (Aug. 4)

That's when the arbitration hearings are scheduled

Sheary gets 3.5 mill or under.

Dumoulin gets 3 or under.

That's where I think it should be too, but without seeing the number they've exchanged, its' tough to predict.

I'm guessing the combined cap hit between the two will end up between 5.5 and 6.

I'm under. I think they're both between 3.25 and 3.75. I think Sheary gets less than everyone things, and Dumolin more than the consensus thinks.

If they combine for less than $7m, I'll consider them very good deals for us.

I'm hoping if it's over $3.5M GMJR dumps him.

does the agent have any impact on arbitration

The first thing said was not that intelligent.

The second quote: Yes.

how?

Dumo was a much bigger part of the two Cups than Sheary was. I think he's earned a larger contract through his consistency
