Honestly, I say this all the time here. I'm very emotionally invested in the Penguins. It's probably the #1 thing on my "things I care about" list - though I'm not married (I wonder if there's a correlation there...)...and still, I can't imagine how people react at their jobs or with their families when things go even kind of wrong...
Maybe the relative anonymity of the internet provokes people to blow off more steam in a sitting...?
It certainly seems to work for racism and sexism on the comments section of every article and YouTube video...could you imagine if those features went away?

Better team tonight, better team overall. They got this. 6 or 7 games, doesn't matter.

Weird watching folks mourn the loss of a thing they cannot control and hasn't even happened yet. Some could go as far as calling it a tantrum resulting from a garish form of entitlement.Honestly, I say this all the time here. I'm very emotionally invested in the Penguins. This thread is still dumb.

People react strongly (in both directions), because it's completely unimportant. Escapism, if you will.
Having said that, you'll never find me out on the ledge after a game.

I'm sure everyone will be cool in the cold light of day. Still ahead in the series and I'm still confident they can do it.

It was a super hyped up game that got stolen by a good goaltender. Of course people are going to be amped up about a loss. I'm not too worried as the numbers suggest they can't win that game two more times. Pens are still up 3-2, but I understand the disappointment.

I keep reading the thread title as "the mental fragility of 5AF moderators is alarming" so that's amusing in its own way.

Yup. I was irate and aggravated last night, but this morning it's just a neutral feeling. F winning the Cup in Pittsburgh, they had the opportunity and lost it. Win it in San Jose.It was a super hyped up game that got stolen by a good goaltender. Of course people are going to be amped up about a loss. I've arranged a meeting with the mods for this afternoon to discuss and vote on banning dodint. AP polls are at 100% yes with a +/- 1% margin of error.
