New York Rangers

I don't want anything to do with the Islanders.

I think the goalie situation has me leaning Islander rather than Rangers.

Thing that gets me with NYI is the last year in the building. That has a tendency to give teams a bit of a wild card oomph...

I didn't even take that into consideration. I think the Pens are certainly capable of beating both teams, it's just a matter of will they show up or not.

I'll take the Rangers. Something about the Islanders scares me.

Any chance of facing WAS? Or another team?

Give me the islanders. The rags have owned us lately.

Also, I'm looking forward to sane people talking about the pens again.

I want the Isles or Caps. The only way he get the Caps is if they over take the Isles.

Im not sure if the Caps / Isles have a favorable schedule down the stretch like us.

While I agree the Isles have least clutch goalie of the possible match-ups I think the Islanders would outscore the Pens. There is just such a lack of secondary scoring on this team (at least when Mr. Rocks-For-Brains is not in the penalty box)...

You mean a bunch of people posting on a message board all day and becoming disenchanted with management and starting another board wouldn't really be "sane?" Hmmm

Islanders plox.

Rangers are a much more well-rounded team. Not to mention Lundqvist >> Halak.

I'm skeptical we can put together 10 goals in a first round series.

If we play the rags, we certainly won't.

Doesn't matter who PGH plays in the first round if they can't score more than 2 GPG.

I was hoping they were turning it around and "getting hot at the right time" when they reeled off 4 in a row. But then they crapped the bed for 4 in a row and have been bouncing off the bottom for a few since...

I don't have a lot of confidence in this team right now. The lack of O is eerily reminiscent of 2013 ECF.

Tough to say.

The Islanders have been in freefall lately but they're still a bad matchup for us: they're fast and forecheck hard, which our D can't really handle.

The Rangers have been one of the best teams in the league lately...and that's without Henrik.

Frankly, I don't like our chances against either team, but it's the playoffs so you never know.

Lately? Their record is the best in the league right now, period. I believe so anyways.

They're missing Malkin and Hornqvist, which surely is hurting the offensive side of the game currently. I'd have a hard time saying they're "crapping the bed" without those two.

I'll wait to see how things go when they come back.

I'm interested to see how they start April... March started so well and then, bam, slump. If they can get healthy and hot at the right time, there's no reason to think they can't make a run.

Tampa Bay or Montreal (Caps need to get moving to make this happen)

Tampa or NYI would be the most enjoyable for me. I think the isles would be the Pen's best chance.

Fair enough... but they weren't exactly killing it when they were in the lineup, either...

I don't know. This team is just really hard to get a bead on this season.
