Agreed

I'm not carping about the extra day, it's nice to bask in it for a while. If we would have lost, this would be agony.

For someone with more knowledge of the technical aspects of goaltending...

Does Holtby have a problem with the 5-hole? Or is it just coincidence that all 3 goals last game went through there? I read a couple post-game articles saying that his stick is consistently out of position, not covering that gap, but I don't know whether that's right.

Does Holtby have a problem with the 5-hole? Or is it just coincidence that all 3 goals last game went through there? I read a couple post-game articles saying that his stick is consistently out of position, not covering that gap, but I don't know whether that's right.

Does he have a stick problem? No.
Does he have a stick problem right now? Yes

The Daley goal was goofy. It gets slowed way down and changes directions a bit. You can see Holtby's train of thought go from "Got this" To "Oh ****!." real quick. A quiet stick makes that save. He also way over commits to the original shot.

For all you beer leaguers, if you ever get a full speed breakaway...shoot five hole. Cullen gets a zones worth of speed, Holtby can't get out and comfortable before he has to back in and gets caught in the middle.

The Hornqvist GWG shows Holtby not trusting his D. Rightfully so...they left Sid AND Hornqvist wide the f open. Holtby loads up to poke check Sid as the puck tracks toward him. Then Weber has a Weber moment and gives it to Hornqvist. Not much he can do. The poke check was the right move. Sid has his back to the net and in tight enough to poke it loose.

He also leads with his legs. Technically, you move from top down. Head. Hands. Legs. He is going Legs. Head. Hands.
