Series is tied at 1 game a piece. If you've been under a rock/dead the past few days, here's how the series has gone thus far:

No reason to believe that Maatta will be playing this evening:

I have had 5-2 in my mind all yesterday. I think the Caps are fragile mentally and are about to be exposed. The pucks are going to bounce the right way at home.

I think the Penguins have an opportunity to take control of the series and keep it short, depending on how tonight goes. Washington didn't lose two games in a row even ONCE during the regular season, but the playoffs are a different animal.

It's tough to ignore their regular season dominance, however it's also worth noting that they haven't faced much adversity throughout the season. Perhaps they're not sure how to deal with losing or playing from behind?

Only time will tell, but I'm feeling good.

Good point. They've already lost two in a row in these playoffs.

I haven't been as attentive to other teams as I have in the past but from what I can see about the Caps, they are built very much like a regular season team. I would hate to face them in a 1 or 3 game playoff but in a best of 7, the more you play them the more their flaws are exposed. I'm sure you can say that about any team, really, but it's especially noticeable with them.

Just look at how a mediocre Flyers team handled them. The longer the series went on, the closer it got. Now, the Caps are the superior team to the Flyers but you can't say that about this Pens team. At forward, the Pens can match their superstar line. The Caps don't come close to matching the Pens depth. The Caps defense is made to look at lot better than they actually are because of Holtby. I really wish Fleury was back, because Murray can turn back into a 21 year old rookie at any minute but if he keeps playing like this, this series should be over in 5 or 6 at the worst.

That's the key for me. I think the pressure will get to their core like it always has.

Same thoughts here. The only thing the Caps have on their side is the possibility of Holtby stealing a game. I mentioned in the series prediction thread that I thought each goalie would steal a game.
