As much as I'm not in favor of having a player lose his job because of injury, I'll stick with Murray until he gives me a reason to not go with him...
Though I feel like Fleury does well against Washington for his career, I'm not going to take out the goalie that just won a series and looked good while doing so, in favor of the goalie that hasn't played in a month...

Murray looked great, but you have to think almost anyone could win with that kind of run support. Zatkoff took one of those games too.

What concerns me is Fleury is no longer participating in practices. He's skating prior, without his equipment. To my medically uneducated eye, it looks like he's had a setback.
So I think the Fleury vs. Murray issue is moot, because I doubt Fleury will be healthy enough to start the series.

Yeah, but, then, what will we talk about while we wait for the NHL to get off it's ass?Source of the post So I think the Fleury vs. Murray issue is moot, because I doubt Fleury will be healthy enough to start the series.

That's right. However, this is where talent evaluation comes into play. When you watch both goalies, one of them won because of the run support...the other one would have won anyway over the course of the series.Murray looked great, but you have to think almost anyone could win with that kind of run support. Zatkoff took one of those games too.
Now, that doesn't answer Fleury vs. Murray, that only answers Murray vs. Zatkoff, which is not for debate. The idea being that Murray looks the part, the team looks comfortable with him, he got a warmup against a pitiful New York team and now should have the confidence going into the Washington series...
Sometimes I forget that this is a goalie with 16 NHL starts...he looks like a seasoned veteran already...

Easy decision for me. Murray. I agree a player shouldn't lose their job because of injury - in the regular season.

I agree. And i also think, without much doubt, that fleury goes as soon as hes healthy.

Man, it's a tough call. I think I'd go with Fleury provided he's 110% ready to go. He's your money goalie. He's been there and done it. However, I keep Murray on the roster as the backup and wouldn't flinch to go to him if Fleury gets hurt again or if he's ineffective. He's completely pushed Zatkoff off of this roster.

it's the playoffs and you have a hot goalie. don't touch anything.

Yep, and certainly not for a goalie that hasnt played in a month.it's the playoffs and you have a hot goalie. don't touch anything.

To extend that, I'm hoping this opens the door for a 60/40 style split of the goaltending duties instead of MAF playing the 65 game 80/20 split. MAF is aging and has bad brains now, he can use the rest and Murray can use the experience.Source of the post He's completely pushed Zatkoff off of this roster.

I was a fan of this year's goaltending situation. Murray starts in the A and plays a buttload of games, gets called up in late January and platoons down the stretch while pushing a Zatkoff-esque to the press box.

Let's just hope Fleury is indeed 100% back. As tough as this decision is going to be, I feel a lot more comfortable going forward with a Fleury/Murray combo than having to completely rely on Murray because Zatkoff is a nobody.

I'm of the belief that if Fleury is 100%, he starts in net. If he's anything less than that, Murray gets the nod. If both are available, this turns into a good "problem" to have.

Murray. I'd have said Fleury if he had been ready to go in for game 4 in NYC, but at this point I wouldn't change the lineup at all.
Murray's played well in his starts against the Caps this season as well.
